May 11th, 2024, my wife and I have been in Rio for the last week. Super nice people, tremendous city, tropical, colonial and modern. We love it and plan on coming back. I can't say enough how nice the people have been to us.

I visited Brazil (Rio) in February of this year during the carnival and football season and had a blast. I met some of the friendliest people anywhere in the world and made many lifelong friends. I wouldn't mind visiting other parts of Brazil in the future, I've heard Bahia and Iguazu Falls regions are extremely beautiful but Brazil itself is a huge country, hard to see everything at once. People also rave about Chapada Diamantina, Amazon Rainforest and Arraial do Cabo. I also would like to visit Argentina. In South America I only went to Rio, then northern Chile (Atacama Desert) and Bolivia (Salar de Uyuni and La Paz). South America in general is gorgeous and so cheap as an American citizen. I live in NY and found people in Rio de Janeiro much nicer than in NY and extremely safe. Never had any problems, I also saw tons of tourists from Europe come and visit and also from other parts of South America, it was a lot of fun and positive energy.

@@SwedishGringoBrazil is great country to visit, but so many beautiful countries to visit around the world. I saw Rio this year, it was a lot of fun, maybe next year I visit Iguazu Falls, I've heard it's stunning, then I want to see Patagonia and Torres del Paine in Chile, never been there.

Fantastic guide. Paraty is a super sized St Augustine (for those US travelers here). I have also visited Ilha Grande and Buzios which are super nice. The only downside is that water is super cold (at least for me, being a Floridian) and we generally stay on the beach or boat.
@SwedishGringo7 ай бұрын
Hehe, you obviosly belong in the northeast my friend. Water there is luke warm ☀️🏝️
@Nathavolt6 ай бұрын
If you like warm waters, go to the beaches in the northeast, especially on the stretch called "Costa do Coral" (Coral Coast), which starts in Maceió and goes to Porto de Galinhas, highlighting the main tourist attractions: São Miguel dos Milagres, Maragogi and Porto de Galinhas (visit their natural pools). It's a relatively safe region. The best time to visit this region is from October to January (the period with less rain). I consider this region to be the Brazilian Caribbean, as it has crystal clear waters in shades of blue or green and has warm waters.
