I'm an ESFJ and I'm truly thankful for you and all your knowledge that you share with us. Your lectures gives me new perspectives and ideas on how to be better for the sake of myself, not others. I didn't really think early how much I need to be listened to by my friends and partners. That's could be a reason why I felt awful in some relationships. This and many other pieces of information already helps me to be more direct about my needs to my loved ones and bring wonderful results. Thank you.

I died laughing remembering my experiences with SFJs when you talked about SFJs being both passive aggressive informative with their bitter criticisms but also “polite” and “respectful” with their word choices. You’ve got to love SFJ passive aggressive caring gifts and acts of service. I do enjoy that INTP subconscious that spends days thinking about one thing until they have verified proof why they know what should be done.

Damn, you are just one of those people that actually makes me happy I'm a people, lol. Seriously you are incredibly valuable to me and checking in with you on this process for the last couple of years has been incredibly bolstering, incredibly informative, and incredibly efficacious for me and my loved ones. I dig the bike. Actually I remember hoping a few months ago or so that you were okay and taking care of yourself and now I'm not worried lol. In the last video of yours I watched I mentioned that my entire self was aligning for a relationship with my dual and while it used to seem absurd I was reconsidering my position and I was having this sense and feeling and knowing that I was going to have a significant encounter with a dual, a mutual learning experience, but I was imagining it was romantic for some reason, I guess lol. Well, once again I'm so unconscious of something right in front of my face!...I was unable to type my dad definitively in the past, I kept going back and forth, it was like something was in the way, possibly because of extreme emotional complexes remaining from childhood of abuse and abandonment. It does hurt to go back and try to figure things out, and I'm only just now becoming fully conscious of how my dad and I interact and though I've never been able to type him before (I'm an INTP), I know now he is an ESFJ. I have been, for the past seven months or so trying to rebuild my relationships with my dad and sister and clear up any old patterns together. (Wah :( no intense, sexy, conflicted relationship with a fireman dual??? :( Super sad...) I've been able to mend so much! My sister is an INFJ, so it was really important to type her so I could understand her. I asked her to type herself about eight years ago but she lied and she said she hated her type. She threw me off the scent really well lol. But during this new healing time she explained all that and really owned herself, it was fucking beautiful. She is learning about herself through the cognitive functions and you can see how incredibly helpful it is to her psyche right now. My dad never listens enough so I gave him some books and I interject when I can make the most impact very succinctly. In about two years he will call me up and tell me all about this new thing he's learned about cognitive functions and tell me about everything I've ever said in an hour long monologue lol! But it's okay, I'm just happy he might start phenomenologically understanding his functioning a little better. I set him up in a conversational group with the intention of listening more than talking and he's happily attending these bimonthly and I'm looking for other ways to help him. I'm even kind of pretending Actually now that I know for sure he and I are going to make some real progress and I'm going to make some charts for him. Dang, phone calls and work..gotta watch the rest later.

I'm INTJ, I started dating my ESFJ because he's just the most caring person you'll ever meet. I stayed out of romantic relationships for my whole school and university life because I didn't trust men (and consequently had the most sleazy ESFPs and ESTPs chase me all through this period which just terrified me further) but then my ESFJ came along and suddenly I wasn't afraid of romantic relationships anymore. Now 2 years into our relationship he still does a lot for me (he listens to what I want, he takes me anywhere I need to go because I don't drive). I just think he gets extremely passive aggressive when we fight (I'm straightforward so I'll say "You did X so it's wrong" and he'll change the subject but then an hour later tell me something deliberately to push my buttons) and also he's quite manipulative when he's being passive aggressive and I fall for *any manipulation strategy you could possibly Google* How do I make an ESFJ more straightforward and less passive aggressive and manipulative? Also sometimes I feel like he provokes me in order to get a reaction (to prove I still care about him) because I'm sorta reserved with handing out affection.

@maryrosenwasser1656 Жыл бұрын
If someone is loyal to their friends, family, clients, exes or current partner i know that there is a high chance that they will be loyal to me People tend to act the same with everyone, so if they are only loyal to you it is probably an act or a temporary crush that keeps them from betraying or cheating on you People who are generally flawed until they fall for someone and become the perfect person just for them exist only in manga, in real life anyone who acts like this is manipulative or severely traumatized
@Heart.headed10 ай бұрын
We're loyal af.... unless/until we realize we've been pouring our heart, mind & soul into others (with them being happy/well, the only goal)... shirt off our own back (cuz they were cold outside & said they didn't have one)... then, when the tables are turned... and we are cold outside... cuz we gave them a shirt we no longer have.. and we ask if we they might be willing to share one of their 3 layers.. the response is: "Fuck off." That's both a literal & analogous example. Point is, we're all about the R's. Mutual(s): Respect, Responsibility, & Reciprocity. An unhealthy/exhausted ESFJ looks pedantically demanding for those... A healthy ESFJ will set healthy boundaries... So we don't have to put our foot in an exploiters ass 😁. To do otherwise (boundaries related), leads us to call back for help we really don't need... and gettin all hurt for lack of reciprocity we don't deserve-definitively speaking. Ya dig? 😎 TL;DR EDIT Reciprocity. What I'm saying is... ESFJ's are all about giving. Shitty &/or Shiny. Choose wisely 🤣🤣🤣

Every time I tell someone I'm and ESFJ and in a 5-year commited relationship with an INTP I get condescending replies like "you've probably mistyped each other" I've been watching Chase from season 1 and no we didn't mistype each other, we are simply two mature and healthy individuals supporting each others' aspirations and development, and learning how to make each other happy if it does not come naturally (does it for anyone?) I understand Chase's view on "why dual relationships can't work", but that only applies if one or both people are stuck in their Ego ways and close-mindedly follow "default mode" programmes You always brings up the fact that two Si's would be horrible in bed for example, but if both people listen and try hard to please each other - they may as well learn to enjoy their own experiences and feelings (me more because my Se is higher up in the cognitive stack, but still) Or that our Heros would tire each other out - yes I do get tired after an hour of a Ti-Ne metaphisical science conversation, but talking this through with respect and understanding we have found so many ways to fit each other better based on the knowledge of depth psychology from you Chase (Thank you, truly) I just don't want people out there to think that their dual relationship is doomed - no relationship is if there is respect, love and willingness to open up your mind to new things
@CSJoseph4 жыл бұрын
It is not doomed. However, it is a staggering amount of work and effort that goes far beyond other relationships

While it’s true that SFJs can’t really exist in housewife roles there are several areas in society where we are likely dominant such as healthcare, nursing, etc. it’s crazy how much people just want someone to act compassionate and warm towards them. We are totally doormats. It is not about being smartest in the room-it is more about control. That being said- as an, ESFJ I absolutley cannot stand when someone knows more than I do...I call myself a competitive learner. Is that somehow linked to the ESFJ personality or is that an individual quirk? Maybe because of our need to be the informer? Not a fan of the bike. Are you ADD? Your need to multitask to stay on point is an indication of ADD. Married to ENTP with ADD...he is brilliant... I see a lot of the same tendencies in you.
