I've been curious: how the heck did these classified documents even GET to Mar a Lago in the first place? When I check out a book at my local library, I have to go through a detector thingie to make sure my books are really checked out. (A pardon is not automatic, it is an agreement by both parties.)

In most places the inspector is lucky to come by once a year, and they warn the owners they're coming in most cases a week or more ahead of time so they can clean and pass inspection. If they do happen to show up unannounced then the goal is to distract the inspector as long as possible so the kitchen staff can fly around and put dates on things for the first time in months and to wipe up any spills they can in the 10 minutes of distracting the inspector. Most back of house workers have drug problems, and in working in dozens of kitchens I'm still the only one I've ever seen get down on their knees and wipe out a fridge with bleach regularly. And again most restaurants reuse what food they can off buffets, cheese can be recycled for weeks if it's frozen in between serving. Seafood like crab and shrimp same thing, just freeze it asap and serve again when possible just mix it in with fresher stuff. Soup de Jour is almost always what's left from the days before, can't let money go in the trash if you can help it on small margins like restaurants have. There is an old saying never go into your favorite restaurants kitchen, it's because I can guarantee most people would find something they'd gag or puke over if they really looked.
