Nice to see Mark in the UK. I am in the north, near Sheffield. 25th March we are getting the IPF event Sheffield Powerlifting Championships 2023 "Launched in partnership with the International Powerlifting Federation, Sheffield 2023 will showcase the stars of our sport in a high-profile event with the largest prize fund in powerlifting history. The event is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom, bringing together 12 men and 12 women to battle it out for world records and the title of champion of champions." We are also on the map for strongman competition. Seems to be a big appetite for the strength related events here Would be great if kettlebells, clubs and maces could put down roots here too. Love the channel.

This is super helpful! I’m a 5’4” female with tiny, childlike hands. I was a competitive fencer during my misspent youth, and I’ve always been particular about the grips on my equipment, which is difficult considering most of them are made for an average hand size that is larger than mine. I’ve been experimenting with making my own maces and clubs with galvanized pipe, and this clarified why some sizes work better for me than others. Thank you!

Greetings from Italy Mark, i can't wait for you to be here soon! I know i've already asked but: that jacket is sick!! What's the closest i can get to that one-of-a-kind model you're wearing? By the way: still no luck on finding a high-quality adjustable club. My only chance at getting something even remotely useful would be the Slaters Slammer which is available here in Europe as well, though sold out at the moment - but that works more like a mace than a club.

Hey Mark, you were going to make a video about how to build up to 10 minutes of nonstop shield casts with 2h heavy club. Can you maybe type out a hint?

Not Mark, but one way to get there is: 5 x 2 minute sets (or 10x1) with reasonable rests to keep excellent technique. Subtract time from your rest periods in a logical progressive fashion, and begin merging those 2 minute (or 1 minute) sets together. Eventually you’ll arrive at 10 minutes unbroken.

Isn’t the ideal grip size dependent on hand size? For instance, I’m 5’9” 160, would i be using the same grip size as say a 6’5” 260lbs individual?

My question is for maces and clubs. If equipment is not available, would wearing gloves to modify the thickness of the handles be a solution to get a bigger grip?

A better idea might be to wrap the handle with the type of tape used for hockey sticks

I say yes to gloves. Gym gloves help me as my handles are slightly thinner than marks club. Tactility is still very good but it might not be as optimal as thicker handle

I personally wrap the handle in sandpaper, helps toughen the skin /s But nah use hockey grip tape, actually use that on my snatch bell cuz i let go of it from time to time and break stuff if i dont lol

We have a joke over here, that if you carry a ball with your cricket/baseball bat, it's now not deemed an offensive weapon 😂 our laws can be ridiculous at times
