I wish you had maybe just taken another run or two at some of these clears, because the piloting was far from optimal in many (many cases of enemies ungrouping, questionable lumidouce case uptime, etc), which is very reasonable for a brand-new character/team that you haven't practiced with, but surely colours the perception. That "Emilie personal DPS" team barely gave her any Bennett buff, for example, and it was very unclear what the purpose of Nahida's burst was when nobody in that team cared about EM. Either way, I've been satisfied enough with mine from both a damage and a visuals perspective! I think she's strong enough that people who like her can be happy to pull, but not overwhelming, so people who don't like her can be happy to skip. Her animations are extremely pretty to me; frankly I'm unsure what more they could do with a turret that wouldn't make the battlefield an indiscernible mess of VFX. I don't think anyone needs to see three Kazuha bursts going at once.

As a guy that did optimize my runs with C0 PJWS Arle overload with C0 Chev, and considering the fact that TCers calced Emilie to be at this range, and the fact that Emilie has similar flexiblity by having multiple ways of placing her lantern (thus circumventing a bit circle impact issues), his 08:46 clear time on 12-1-1 could've easily been a 09:00, or even a 09:10 if he even tried to. My clear times in the current first half with overload were 09:15 / 09:31 / 09:32-09:29 depending on ASIMON RNG. Emilie should be able to get similar or better clear times. He actually made Emilie look bad lmao.

Does Emilie snapshot? As far as I know, no. On field=more Bennett buff uptime. Have you done the ER calcs? He possibly has low artifact quality, low ER rolls, etc. Nahida has deepwood for the res shred, though you can try to put it on someone else if you want to.

I'd say too that this video did not do justice on showcasing Emilie at all. If all we cared for is maximizing her Damage per Screenshot on that segment, then just go for a Benny + Deepwood holder (Zhong or Thoma could be options) + TTDS wielder (Noblesse Tankfei maybe) Heck, if you really want a functioning team, just go Benny Xl core with a deepwood holder (can be Zhong and Thoma again, but I actually like Kuki as she has decent overload damage + full uptime on E + healing over 70% HP + you don't need resist interrupt when your lamp is dealing 99% of your damage anyway + can also hold fav + prolly I'll be using Zhong on another team). I already had great clear times (sub 1min 12-3 2nd half) with it just by standing inside Bennett's circle, not even basic attacking the Dorito boss and somehow it's dying. Nahida isn't doing anything for Emilie's DMG as EM is negligible and what she needs is Atk/Dmg bonus more than anything else. All she's doing there is Deepwood + Energy, which can be filled by other chars whilst providing something else more valuable for that Emilie on-field team (which is already absurd on its own, but hey, it unexpectedly works like a charm) And Fav? Really? She's already on-field on that team ffs. Just give her Missive. 1 fav holder is plenty. Besides, her turret lasts freakin 22s, and her burst CD (13.5s) is literally almost half of that, so you have all the time in the world to reactivate that burst again before the lamp expires. And don't even get me started with how he wanna reposition her lamp. Once you casted your lamp through skill, you'll NEVER use it ever again unless skill issue and you missed the 8.5s leeway between the burst CD and lamp duration. It already has a huge AoE + burst has shorter cooldown than skill, so you'll be able to reposition that thing 4 times tops just with the burst in 60s. Sigh, I ended up creating a block of text for how terrible this is. This could even be considered as blatant misinformation lmao

The reason is because your ER requirements on Emilie are basically zero when you have such a great dendro battery like Nahida on the team. So there is no reason to be running an ER weapon (Fav) on her when you can be running a more offensive weapon to maximize her damage. Also if we want to get technical, Nahida can buff Emilie by holding Deepwood causing dendro res and that lets Emilie have her burning artificer set. I'm liking Emilie in both burnload Clorinde and Kazoo+Nahida air fryer. Having a source of dendro that you don't need to re-up in multi-wave content is nice, and having good synergy with Thomas the Dank Engine makes me happy personally. Pretty excited to see how she fairs with Kinich (he just looks fun imo, so I wanna pull him) especially when we get more pyro characters. @@Daverf1f most of characters does that E and Q? as basic as Xinqui does, but in Emilie, there's a lot of strategic factors: 1) placement of turret / reposition and level etc. (you keep retaining lv2 as possible via burst and try not to recast E and put it on center so whole coverage of chamber is reachable), he stressed that technique on Noelle's charge attack, similar idea 2) timings (one example is weapon like missive windspear requires you to trigger reaction, so you have to cast emilie skill as reactor rather than applicator) 3) burgeon tricks on c6 bennette which emilie can have most uptime on bennette circle, increases her dmg a lot and bonus burgeon ticks as pyro trigger (properly showcased by other CC) and there are many stuff can be factored and creative about her kit despite of being niche on burning, she have more diverse team option than nilou and chevruse

thanks for mentioning the effects... I thought it was just me because I haven't used any polearms lately. But comparing Emilie to Navia, whose idles and animation I ADORE (she puts on her sunglasses for charged attack!!!) I found Emilie's animations very disappointing. I then compared it to other polearm users - some four stars have better animations... Even Yelan in comparison is quite stylish and will throw poses at the end of her combos. But Emilie doesn't do much - to me it implied "rushed" or "last minute decision" to make her 5 star. She's a 5 star, but the animation is seriously lacking, on field she feels extremely mediocre and like a 4 star. She won't even put her weapon away with a flourish, it simply disappears. It feels very generic.

I think my biggest problem is how much of dps loss is the burst in 5 stars. If you have for example team of tree 5 stars you can spend 5-6 seconds every 15-20 seconds just doing burst animation. meanwhile the timer is tiking

In my testing, my Arlecchino Mono Pyro teams clear ASIMON much faster with Emilie. With Xiangling i beat it at 8:40-8:50ish, while with Emilie i can beat it at 9:20

I very much doubt that Emilie would end up being best-in-slot on any upcoming team with the sole exception of Kinich, who relies on burning to even function in the first place. I can also hardly see them trying to design new kits based around potential synergy with such an unpopular reaction and character, as that would only result in poor sales.

Kinich doesn't care if you use burgeon as well, which consequently also brings pretty strong off-field dps in place of Emilie. Furthermore, Kinich still gets 3 cannon shots without any burning or burgeon, you could still play him in other teams and he'd do fine if the team is good enough.

As for Melt, you're likely just completely unacquainted with the concept of Vape-Melt consisting of Bennett, Xiangling, Furina, and a cryo unit. It wouldn't be an exxageration to call it straight up better than anything Emilie could ever offer for the current cryo roster - you would've known it from calcs that pretty much just speak for themselves if you actually bothered to glance through some.

HI Zajef! Try placing Emilie's Turret smack in the middle of the Abyss Chamber. I kept running up to enemies and putting it down in front of their faces when I really didn't have to; and it came back to bite me when the next waves spawns on the other side. Mean while once I started putting it in the middle I found I didn't have to reposition it to let it keep hitting almost every enemy.

I liked her. Gave me teams to play around with that I wouldn't have used otherwise. It isn't like a have a bunch of teams competing to beat my nahida team or my furina/neuv team. I use those two to clear stuff initially and then I play around with various other teams that aren't as universal (for furina/neuv I do alternate dehya/fischl). This is one more of the teams. More importantly, I go for all the archons. Heck, I've been getting constellations as a f2p on the last few archons and I'll probably do the same in Natlan. I'm pretty sure Emilie she will go great with the pyro archon. And if not? Eh, I can still throw her in as a burning fischl. Not as universal but even more plug and play since you just need to ult after doing e the first time. Just does excellent off-field damage with limited downtime. I like characters like that if I think they are helping in a team in some other way (so not chiori). But I'd still bet on her being great with the natlan characters.

I'm saving right now (340 wishes and 70 pity! I'm getting venti's c6 i don't care what i have to do), but I might pull her on her rerun, purely because Burning is my favorite reaction. From the looks of it, I'm not going to be putting her on the teams I already have (Venti, Kazuha, Baizhu, Bennett- purely for exploration so venti and kazuha are locked in, needs baizhu because i am not using bennett's burst every time i need to heal in the overworld. Tighnari, Baizhu, Bennett, Jean- she's not a good on-fielder so she can't replace tighnari, she's not replacing baizhu because skill heals save this team's ass when energy-sucking enemies are in the abyss, and sunfire was the entire point of this team, so no), but she seems like she'd be good with Kinich (I'm thinking Kinich, Thoma, Bennett, Emilie maybe?) and she'd get use out of my Thoma (if we ever get loadouts this looks like it would be a fun reason to build dps baizhu. Baizhu, Thoma, Emilie, maybe Kazuha or Xiangling? Baizhu is my only dendro catalyst, so with Thoma that could maximize the amount of burning reactions. Even built as a DPS, Baizhu's heals should be enough? If not, I can bring bennett too). She doesn't seem to actively buff burning though, which is a little sad because I'd like to use burning for damage rather than as a fun gimmick. Alas, it seems I must continue to rely on the DPS output of Venti and Tighnari. And probably Kinich once he releases. All in all, a little disappointed that she's not a Burning Chevreuse, and because Baizhu is awesome I never have the whole self-daamge problem that Burning causes, which means her passive is unnecessary for me. After he releases, I'm going to see if she's a side-grade for Kinich, because if she is then I'm not pulling for her. I'm already thinking of a few teams I could use without her. No point in wasting primos when I could be saving for Furina's rerun or Baizhu constellations!

Seeing what I missed the last several months and seeing Emilie and Worse Kokomi... I kinda get why he just didn't care about this character. She's a neat character, and seems strong and might be broken in 5.0 but she just doesn't seem that interesting to play or that fun. In many ways, she just makes me think "Dendro 5 Star Sucrose" play style wise. Nothing wrong with that, but she's not really that exciting at the end of the day. If I had been playing, she'd been an easy skip.

I didn't get a chance to test Emilie in a Burning Aloy team unfortunately, but I imagine it'll be OK with off field Pyro like Dehya, but it's not gonna work with someone like Ben without additional Pyro. Considering Nahida and Ben might end up losing out on the Pyro if you do 2 volleys of Aloy's first NAs it'll be even more scuffed with Emilie I'd think... Anyway, not getting her so I can't be too sure 😔

Yeah I don't think Emilie has any proper team to call her own, she more or less works like most dendro supports where they can be put into any team and become meta. It's been a while since we had such a versatile unit since Furina.
