What are your thoughts on this game? Good? Bad? Banger? I think its pretty dated at this point but I think sega was just trying to jump on the racing game trend. At least we got some banger tracks from the game but I doubt we'd ever see Sonic R2.

The amount I just popped off rn seeing balloon mode was a major part of this tourney, LET'S FREAKING GOOOO. I adore balloon mode, it's unironically my favourite randomizer because it's vanilla and it's the fastest pace raw routing reaction time to figure out which 5 balloons of 17 were chosen

Unironically was some of the most fun Ive had playing the game LMAO balloon hunt was a surprisingly hard challenge I just expected them to be in the road rather than hiding behind signs and stuff

This game does indeed have a banger soundtrack. I also really like the designs of newcomers Tails Doll and Mecha Knuckles, and think it's a shame they've never appeared in any other games in the series. However, the game itself is not good. As you said yourself, it always feels like ice physics. The maze-like layouts of the tracks are also really annoying, especially when you're first trying the game out. The characters are imbalanced as heck. And there's only 5 tracks. There are TWICE as many characters as there are race tracks! What the heck is that?

Dude that was the most surprising thing to me was the lack of tracks, if this game had just a few more it would be like 3x better. I never see them doing Sonic R2 or a remake but if they did I hope they don’t pull a Mario Party and only have a few boards/tracks to play on. AND YEAH MECHA KNUX IS SO COOL WHERE DID HE GO???

Such an underrated game. I think a lot of people don't know you have to use the bumpers to help turn your character, and that alone ruins it for so many. I genuinely wish we could get another game like this, but I think a new Riders is still a higher priority for me.

yeah it was kinda hard trying to plan the best way for everyone to play it seems. does the pc version have a way to easily connect? hamachi was considered but when that got brought up it seemed it was too late to try to get everyone ready for this tournament and its noteably hard to get in touch with content creators LMAOOO

@@Emerldd I'm not sure, its been 3 years since i played it, but when i was researching how to run this for my group (who is running through ever sonic game) the pc version, with the fan fixes was by far and away the most stable clean version. I don't know that it supports online though, so you might have needed to do some pc sharing, i dunno. You'd need to look into it to know exactly what it allows for

yeah def wish it had more tracks, and honestly it was pretty fun. just def a dated game that didnt age well. but the ost is some of the best in sonic games and stuff like balloon hunt were surprisingly fun! I would def play it again with other friends! maybe even speedrun it kinda casually
