I finished my undergrad in kinesiology at 21 but didn’t take my marks seriously enough and ended up with a 3.0. A failing GPA in medical standards. I was too immature,goofing off, and didn’t study enough and i never thought grades determine how successful you’ll be in life, But for the careers I wanted to do it does. now I feel like I can’t get out of this rut. An 18 year old has better prospects than me even though I feel like I have more life experience under my belt. It’s a shame cause they make it so hard to bounce back. My past doesn’t define me but those grades stay forever and now I’m 23 with no progression and I’m not sure if it’s worth to take another undergrad and try to achieve a 4.0 GPA cause I know I can do it but I’m worried my past marks will haunt my chances. My undergrad is useless and I have 50K in student loans doing shit jobs that has nothing to do with my degree. Should have just taken a nursing degree so I had something to fall back on. I feel so overwhelmed but this is my fault

I’m a senior in high school & I aspire to be a dentist in the near future. I was wondering if taking a dental assistant program while in undergrad so then I can work & do school would be manageable or even smart to do?

In dental school I know it’s impossible to work so do you live off of students loans not only to pay for school but also to pay for rent, groceries, and other necessities?
@Joycethedentist5 жыл бұрын
autumn perez in my dental school it was impossible to work at the same time. I know some dental students at USC can still work on weekends or have a side gig but yes I was living off of student loans for rent and groceries.

Great video Joyce! Very informative and love how you’re honest about undergrad and dental school. For graduating high school so early, did your parents homeschool you or were you just in an accelerated hs program or something? Thanks and have a great day!! :)

@aidaparsa35083 жыл бұрын
Hi, Joyce, I was wondering how many years did it took you to pay back your loan? and does it worth it becoming a dentist with that heavy loan? because I was thinking about a veterinarian too.
@ernicet76144 жыл бұрын
Did you consider it to be harder to do this program? Is it really competitive? Was doing 3 years instead of 4 years post Doctorates more stressful? I’m interested in applying.
@Joycethedentist4 жыл бұрын
I can only compare to my experiences IN SCHOOL in the 3 year program and as a professor in a 4 year program. I have to say there is a lot more downtime in a 4 year program. Students still seemed stressed though. Given that, I would have rather finished up in 3 years than dragged it on for 4...if that makes sense.

Selena Terran not bad but not at the the same level. Before i started going out i was trying to get the absolute highest grade in the class. I studied on fridays when people were out. Once i started going out i had one less day to study
