Trying to gain some lean muscle as well..had some questions. What was the amount of caloric surplus you created during the bulk? Did you gain some fat as well or you gained pure muscle? Were you disciplined with what you ate(if yes then how?) or the food which you consumed changed from day to day basis?

@@dravitgupta7927 see when you gain weight it's not purely muscles you also put on some fat as well and the amount of surplus I did was 300 kcal from my maintenance calories. the food was constant over the period of time I bulked I hope you're doubts are clarified now

So would you say in order to maximize your development, we should hit the maximum weight in the sets before and see how it feels and then pick a weight for later sets? Because I haven't thought about it before like that, and its a game changer imo

People often mistake progressive overload by thinking of it in the same workout. Progressive overload is just increasing your weight over your lifetime of training. If you did 10kg - 12kg - 14kg and did 14kg - 14kg - 14kg - which do you reckon is more effective ? I would say the latter. With that being said, you should also pay attention to where you are in your training. If you are just starting your workout, don't take the heaviest weight you can lift .. you need to warm your muscles and joints so doing the lighter weight as a warm up works well here. For squats, it makes sense to increase step by step as you might have 2-3 warm up sets before doing your actual sets .. good luck.
