I enjoyed your leather videos. Helped me when I first started plaiting. And tying Turks head knots.

Just so I understand, you cut this shoulder from a half hide? Purchased half inch wide strip from your Etsy site and am extremely pleased with my purchase. Some of the nicest leather I’ve received. Donald.

Yes I start with a side. I trim off the belly leather and some parts of the shoulder that are too stretchy for lace. Then I round out the ends and I can start cutting lace with the strander.

thanks for all information do you like your leather splitter? been thinking about getting one
@bransonsgeneralstore3 жыл бұрын
It is a solid little tool. It only splits, you cannot use it to taper skive a strap like some of the more expensive splitters. I mostly use it for belt making. Like I mentioned in the video. It does come in handy for things like this because you can make the lace or strap a more consistent thickness. I will also use it when I need something like a 6 ounce strap but only have 8 ounce leather long enough to cut it out of.

I have been planning to make a video about braiding with different colored strands. I have just not found the time for it yet.
