Its all about keeping a positive mindset through the process. You're going through an experience, and that experience doesn't define you or make you less of a person. Use this time to learn, grow, connect with yourself and nature. You'll come out of it appreciating having gone through it. Much love friend

Hi man. I can give you a few suggestions regarding tent life: I usually cover up the tent with a green tarp in summer, and a white one in winter to insulate the tent. Items I had when I was a tent person, was a camp bed, an inflatable mattress, an ordinary sleeping bag for covering the mattress, and a -50°C sleeping bags, and a foam pillow. I suggest you camp away from beatened paths, because some jerks can destroy your installations. I had two bikes, a green one for summer time, and a white mountain bike for winter, with a baby carriage to hook up and bring things to the camp. I also made myself a lance with a big kitchen knife on a perch ( an old rake handle in my case ) for protection. I also had an axe to chop some fire wood, and I had made myself a covered fireplace with rocks and argile with moss, in order to hide the glare from on passers. It's like you never know. You need the place to stay secret otherwise, you might come back to see that all is gone, or burnt, or whatever. Some people are plain STUPID.

Years ago I found myself homeless I had a choice it was either a city park bench or a camp in the woods I chose to go camping I found many ways to survive by thinking things through and coming up with a solution for any problems I had to deal with a good example was when winter was right around the corner I needed to find a way to heat my tent and insulate it better so after giving it some thought I found a solution I went on a scavenger hunt in the woods around me and I got lucky thrown over a hill from times gone by was a few iron pipes along with other junk the iron pipes happened to be exactly what I needed to heat my tent I already had a shallow fire pit about 6 ft from my tent so I dug some shallow trenches from the fire pit to underneath the tent floor after laying the iron pipes in the trenches I covered it up with river pebbles when there's a fire in the fire pit it heats the iron pipes up and then I was getting radiant heat through my tent floor I covered the outside of the tent with sleeping bags and tarps which I supported with ropes I was always toasty warm in the winter time I never had a cold night or day this is just one example of a way I found to survive but there were many other ways I came up with to survive

I live in my car or tent while working in the spring and summer. I used to rent, but honestly the thought of knowing that your landlord has all the say and power sucks. He was always watching me. I need to feel free and sometimes living this way is the only way to be free.

I used to spend time teaching homeless in the city how to survive and stay warm, but always wondered why they don’t embrace it, leave the cities and find freedom in nature. It is now how I live today. Part time off the grid. No power, shower in the rain, started with a tarp shelter… I have some fancy things but live simply. Love it.

They pretend to embrace it, but it's hard because they end up out here due to family system, escaping situation, dumped out or escaped the $4kids. Most are runaways, kicked out, dumped out foster kids. Hard to embrace not having a family. The outdoors is great though but the situations that get ppl there isn't. Plus modernization has snatched viral survival skills away from ppl. Ppl don't especially in America have no clue how to live without a government. Which is why in the coming months and years, many will be out of luck .

Tons of drugs, mental health problems, theft amongst campers, etc etc. So I deff suggest staying out of the main cities. In winter, take a couple large rocks and heat them up in a fire, then place them in your vessel of shower water to heat the water up. Don't ever put river rocks in a fire. They've been absorbing water for years and when they heat up the water and air expands so they explode. Do not use river rocks on a fire.

@@osiriswills6749 so basically back then, (I'm in an apt. Now) what I went for was seclusion. I would go deep in the woods and off trail enough where it was rare that people would stumble across my camp. If they did it was normally hunters and they were mad chill, would usually joke and ask where the deer were hiding etc etc. But yea the big thing was seclusion, I also had trip wires with bells for when we slept. I'll post that as a short showing what I did. Most of my content is on tiktok but I'll start re-uploading here

Nice set up bro i love it am homeless as well by choice anyways FREEDOM i live in the state of florida the sunshine state i live 2 miles into the woods away from the city but during the day it is cool and nice to hangout but sometimes at night time the darkness will play mind games on your mentally state of mind always stay focus and never over think because we all do. Solo camping is tough it can be. Camping with someone else is a game changer 100%

Less Than A Home I’m thinking of getting a few acres and building a cabin to do this, but continuing to work to pay everything off and save more. Enjoy my job, but kind of done with the typical ways of modern society. I’m not sure on the legality of doing that in state parks, but I’m happy things are coming together for you and hoping your journey continues to go well.
@lessthanahome
@lessthanahome 4 жыл бұрын
@@ShinzoX90 yea the state park thing is honestly dicey, it just that I don't have a ton of options myself at the moment. You'd be better off buying land. But you can get solar panels, generators, rain collection systems, garden. Animals ect ect. You'd be set if you want to go off grid, and it would be honestly a great way of life.
@CiaofCleburne
@CiaofCleburne 4 жыл бұрын
Less Than A Home or you can look online for intentional communities. People are willing to share land rights in exchange for help with chores, building, solar skills, etc. That’s sort of what we have in mind for our property near the Ozarks. I will live in my really old, sort of remodeled camper at Hobo Site #1. It will end up being a goat/rabbit/bee farm but “farm” isnt a good term. It is wild, forest-type land with fresh water creeks.

As a fellow homeless person, it sucks being outdoors but after having people shame me for years to “be grateful” and “love nature”, I’m at peace with finally admitting that I hate being outdoors and it does nothing for me, and I thank God for admitting the truth. It is in God’s hands if we can get back on our feet or if He slays us. It is His choice.
