I was able to bypass the circuit board, bringing my dryer back twenty years in technology without defeating a single safety mechanism.

Wives either love or hate their husbands fixing everything with garage door parts, i used a 1st generation liftmaster belt front idler (because it has a cam bearing unlike 2ng & 3rd gen that “chirp” )to replace a $43 pulley on my kenmore dryer.

you could get a timed light switch with a dinger so when it shuts off it makes a ding sound so you know your clothes are dry. eliminating the need for the buzzer. You can get them from some cheap toaster ovens. all they are is a timed on off switch.

There is nothing a good comm door man can't do. Impressive!!

I like the way you break down complex information so I was wondering if you can do a video for electrical schematics? I'm very crappie at reading them so can you break one down into simple form since they are very complex tools to read.

This video would be great if you showed how you wired the new switch. It is pretty useless without that info.

So I ended up "hotwiring" my dryer too. I had to remove the switch console, top panel, front panels, and drum. Once I did that, I was able to follow all of the wires and determine which wires I needed for my switch. If you cut the zip ties holding the wires to the black panel behind the switch console, you will see that several of the wires are crimped together. Eliminating these crimps and the additional wires greatly simplifies the process. I put a single pole light switch between the two large red wires. You will also need one of the blue wires. The blue wire is the start sense wire that leads to the drum motor. I would not suggest doing any of this if you aren't experienced with electronics and electrical systems. With the switch in place, the drum turns and the heating element energizes. This is all you need to dry clothes. Opening the door will stop the dryer.

Tom Hallberg got it done as you did. Just had to follow his new diagram (hard to read). Took blue and solid red as load on timer and black wire (hot) to other lead, all wires by controller panel. Just unplug and cut. Also replaced thermostat as shown on video. Works good 👍👍

one more thing. The burner red needs to be connected in series with new thermostat. Then thermostat to Thermal fuse. From thermal fuse to timer along with motor blue. If not in series thermal fuse will blow.

Hoping your washer goes out soon, but you gotta use a "My Q" op. for the first smart phone activated washer..

How do you control/regulate temperature?
@schlc773 жыл бұрын
he is using the thermo-snap disc. it turns burner on at 130 deg f and below and turns the heat off at 150 deg f.

So which wires did you connect to the timer?
