You even mentioned and you could've taken your solid first instinct advise: I recommend to build coops. your Brahmas your long island reds your jersey Giants your partridge your Orignoins your Cornish meat chickens Separate them by breed and category .. you have plenty of place to build these coops: ask savannah and Eric to help you with this you'll see the REASSURED FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR by doing this.. quarantine the infected ones off only they heal up,let them free range ..

I’ve noticed that all my chickens who attack my smaller ones almost to death, are the ones that were raised in a natural environment (I.e being raised by their mothers for their entire lives, and not being handled) that’s why I avoid allowing my hens raise their own chicks, not saying you do, but I find they’re almost more extreme when it comes to the flock/pecking order. My rooster, and some of my others could be in with young chicks and not touch them. They’ve been handled by me since the day they hatched lol. Any bird that shows that type of aggression are the ones I re home. Even the hens offspring that I have kept even have shown that type of aggressive behavior and have been raised the exact same as my other little ones, so I definitely do believe temperaments and genetics have something to do with it, but they can still be cruel no matter what lol.

One way to help both groups of chickens acclimate to each other is to place the two groups in side-by-side runs. Placing the two groups next to one another for one week can help the birds form bonds before being housed together.

If you can handle the gross factor fly tape around the house helps a lot.

I’ve looked for answers to why they don’t constantly attack each other’s combs and wattles, never found any, Those things are bright red and sometimes waving around yet it’s not something they usually go for always stumped me. I had the smallest cut on my finger and I hand feed my chicks so they’re more friendly and dammit the lot of them kept picking on the same spot! 😂

I used to use that on my horses & cattle. Please wear gloves when you apply it. It was thought to be carcinogenic to humans, when I used it. It is an amazing product for animals! Rachel, you got this! Word will spread that you have chickens for sale, then it will take off ❤

I bought those Zevo plug in fly traps for a similar problem and they helped a lot. Less risk of my budgies and conures getting stuck to them like with fly papers.

Use those "Fly Bags" that you put water in and hang on tree limbs. They look like plastic bags.

I could tell you was having a day of it when you were saying hey its Rachel, I could hear it in your voice💜 My Goodness I didn't realise Chicken's would do that! (the pecking and self mutilation) Sounds awful😟 You always have the knowledge of what to do when things like this happen..Can we just slather them in the stuff?😂..I am the same with focusing on one task, I feel you do a more thorough job when you work that way. I hope you manage to Get the things done that are on your to do & that helps pick you up a little. I know you like to feel productive don't you. I think what you get done on a daily basis is nothing short of amazing!🐕🐈🐓🐣🦜🪻🌷I think I'd need a team to do what you do💜

Idk if it’s true I’ve not really looked into it but I’ve heard chickens can’t taste. That’s why they will eat cayenne pepper like nothing.

I sent you a video of White House on the Hill and how they deal with the pecking. I would also suggest you watch their many videos as they are chicken breeders.

Old fashioned fly strips always worked the best & are inexpensive, they fill up, throw them away, hang a new one…

If you ever intend on eating your birds do not use blue kote. I put food coloring in vetericyn. I’m the same way with cleaning. I would be interested in some Brahma roosters if you sell.

I also love a clean environment , but I have noticed that you're cleaning the coops too often. This one is only a little bit of dirty, it surely can last for one more week. You're just wasting a lot of shavings by cleaning them so regularly.
