You just gave me the pep talk I needed! I have PCOS and have always struggled with my weight, and dealing with the quarantine brought on a huge weight gain. It’s been so hard to deal with feeling the worse I’ve ever felt spiritually/mentally/physically this year and then also see the scale match those feelings. You decided to give it another try and you sharing that journey has encouraged me to give being healthier another try!

Ladies. I’m right now thanking God that I’m older and have never experienced such immature bullshit. Be thankful they’re gone. You have both dodged a bullet. Someone who does r want to be with you anymore should have the class/manners/ and morals to give you the respect to tell you in person. These guys just ghosting sounds to me like y’all were dating two pussies and not men. You can do better. Anytime a man doesn’t respect you or treat you like he adores you, walk away. It’s hard but just keep telling yourself that your person is out there. There’s nothing wrong with being single for awhile, get a vibratory until you find your person. Good luck. Don’t sweat those two ghosting chumps.

I did the same! I started my fitness journey August 1st 2020. I have a gym membership and have not used it since 2019. It is very doable!! I watch videos like these to keep me motivated. Weightlifting and calorie deficit did the most for me. I am a foodie so I did not cut out my favorites completely just ate them in moderation. I track macros but don't always meet my protein. October was my birthday month so I was not as strict on myself. November 1st I am getting back on track and am staying away from alcohol until Christmas. I use a few methods to track success since the scale is not always a true depiction of what you have accomplished. I went from 215lbs to 155lbs. Thanks for being transparent and sharing your journey. Very relatable.

Great job Ellen! As a very active Radiographer from NE Iowa (shout out) I had an ER Dr (Fagre) tell me 35+ yrs ago that walking was the very best overall exercise you can do! And I never forgot but I did stop walking. And every time I did my health and mental, yes mental wellbeing declines drastically. I recently started to walk again, thanks to this Fitbit Ulta I purchased last summer @ a garage sale for $25. I'm already leaps and bounds in a better place. There's a 5K river walk where I walk in Waverly and it is the most relaxing time. I had forgotten how healthy that walk was for me. I'm a Mobile Rad Tech now and it's difficult to get there so I take 20min walks after my pts whenever time allows. Blah, blah, blah...my take away from you is the "broken chain". Thank you! I don't wna break the chain either. I love your story and am SO very proud of your success. Keep up the great work. Your friend in fitness, L

When I was listening to your video, I realized how unbelievably similar it is to mine. For example, you had various attempts at weight loss pre-pandemic, and before the pandemic began, you were startling to see results. I was in a similar boat than you where I had lost weight pre-pandemic, but then when covid hit, I didn’t go out (I was and still am able to work from home), and I ate and ate and gained the 60 pounds back that I had lost right before the pandemic. I also tried Noom during the pandemic, and I also don’t recommend it as I didn’t find it helpful. The recipes are good, but that was the only thing about it that I liked. I had also started trying meditation, and that was not bad. I still have to lose about 50 pounds (I’ve lost about 8 pounds since August, which is very frustrating), and I’m stuck this time. Since August, I’ve been doing crossfit 3 mornings each week and also do a lighter workout at the gym on the same days I do crossfit to vary the workouts out, but it’s the food that I’m struggling with. I have a salt tooth and love carbs, and that’s what I’m struggling to eat less of. I absolutely love to eat healthy food and will eat almost anything, but it’s the quick-grab snacks that are the worst for my waistline. Working from home has also been very hard for me (I’m a high school teacher in Ontario, Canada), and living alone doesn’t help either. I don’t like that my kitchen is where I work as snacking is so easy to do. I know that I need to work on not being tempted by what’s in my kitchen, and not buying something so that it’s not in the house is not the most helpful because it’s like a boiling pot - once it’s boiling, you have to take it off the stove. What I mean by that is that if I don’t buy something that I’ve been craving (such as chips), I can go a little bit without it, but eventually, my cravings will get so big that I’m going to end up going out to buy the chips anyway and maybe even more. Depriving myself isn’t healthy, so I have to learn somehow to be able to have the food in my house and not eat it unless it’s for an occasion or it’s a cheat meal, which I agree with. This pandemic has been very tough for all of us, and it’s so good to know that there is hope to losing this stubborn weight during this horrible pandemic. Your weight loss journey is very inspirational. Thank you so much for sharing it. Greetings from Canada 👋
@ellenn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing! It sounds like we do have similar stories! I feel the same way, working out is easy and I still like healthy food, but it’s so much mental and physical work to be consistent with cooking and buying all this food to cook at home. The snacks are so much easier especially when you’re exhausted and don’t feel like cooking. And I have the same trouble, I basically work in my kitchen so the cupboards are only a step away. The temptation to snack all day is very hard to resist sometimes! Along with barely getting any steps in if I don’t leave my apartment either. Sometimes just cooking and getting a workout in can be a challenge. But it sounds like you’re doing great with it so far and you’re on the right track! Best of luck to you and thank you for watching!☺️

The calorie counting is seriously the key. I tell everyone this and they don't believe me, but it's simple math. Eat less than you expend and your body will lose the fat, using up your stored energy. That doesn't mean go starving, it means a LOT of planning and dedication to make sure you are meeting proper nutritional needs. I lost 19 lbs last year. I'm 5'2 and i started at 168lbs and now down to 149 lbs (that has been consistent for about two weeks so kinda plateau) but I know I'm not done yet. My goal is around 135 so almost there!!! Your video was VERY helpful for people just starting and might be skeptical or in denial about calorie counting and I will def send it to everyone I think may be interested. Some people say that my obsession with losing and constantly paying attention to what I eat is a disorder but I have to disagree, it is just me caring about my body. Everyone would say that I was just shaped that way or bigger boned. That is simply untrue. I was straight up just eating too much and counting the calories proved it. After I lost my first 10 lbs I started to consistently be in the gym 3 times a week. Losing the weight has really changed my life for the better! I feel so confident in my clothes again, I feel strong, and my stress levels are lower! Every day is a say towards the goal and a chance for improvement ✨ 🙌 🙏 ❤

Don't know where you are on your journey, but wanted to give some advice. I have 2 babies under 2, my daughter being only 4 months old. Before pregnancy I was at 200 pounds, and thankfully gained no weight at all with either. Though I was 140 several years ago, but put on weight after being careless with my food intake and haven't been able to drop the weight since. Now, as a mom of 2, I'm sick of the weight, want to be healthier for them and for myself so the past 2 months I've really become dedicated to making changes and am seeing results steadily. If you develop a good schedule you can stick to with your kiddo, it makes things sooo much easier. My kids sleep, eat and play at the same times everyday (I'm also a stay at home mom), leaving me room for time for myself. Usually in the afternoon, when my daughter is asleep, I put a movie on for my son and will get about an entire hour to focus on exercise. I exercise pretty much everyday, and it is totally doable with having babies if you're consistent. I also changed my diet and am eating healthier. The scale has changed a little, but I've lost inches. My belly is flatter, lost a lot of chub on my sides and back too. Went down a whole size in clothes! Hope this helps and motivates you mama! ❤

found your video as the first one when I just decided to start watching weight loss inspiration. I was 120 when I graduated HS in 2016, 150 in college in 2017, got very fit in the gym and dropped to a very healthy and muscular 120 by the end of 2018…. and now in 2022 i’m 195 pounds. I gave up on my gym self because of my mental health, and I always go between the thoughts of “I can lose this weight!” and “am I being anti-body positive if I don’t accept where I am?” but i’ve only recently truly loved and accepted what I look like. that acceptance shows me that I don’t wanna lose weight just because of outer images, but because of how it makes me feel internally and mentally. I cannot wait to get started, and this will be a huge year for me! thank you for the inspiration!!!

I definitely understand how you feel!! I feel conflicted sometimes with still wanting to lose weight vs accepting where I am but I think ultimately we just have to find out what weight we are happiest at and stick with that and don’t let it determine how we feel otherwise! I also like the idea of doing meditation specific to my issues. Anyway thanks for the motivation!

Sounds like we have a similar story! Meditation is also super helpful if you’re into that sort of thing. Thank you for watching and best wishes!☺️

Thank you for sharing your weight loss journey. I too have been up and down the scales many times. I had a cancer scare April 2020. After I became healed, I decided to make major life changes. I too decided to be nicer to myself. I too do affirmations and meditation. Overall I lost 86 pounds. I want to lose more. This time my main reason is my health. I feel like I can sustain my habits for the rest of my life. I wish you continued success. Again I appreciate your story.

Thanks for sharing your holistic approach to weight loss. There are so many videos out there of individuals who tell you how but what's missing is the mental health aspect. If you can conquer the thoughts in your mind then 90% of the weight loss journey is won.

Thank you for watching!❤️ I agree, my hope was to put out something that’s different from all the other weight loss videos out there. I’m glad I could help!

First off, congrats!!! What an accomplishment. Secondly, I LOVE that you referred to walking as your workout. Walking is the most underrated exercise and anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to make money off of you. Again congrats girl :)

You sound like me. I’m back trying to get myself back on track. Lost weight at the beginning of COVID now I’ve gained it all back and some. I’ve started meditating also to work on my mental health too. Congratulations on losing and feelings better about yourself!

I started being nice to myself the past couple months too & i feel so much better about waking up every morning. when i was dog piling hideous things to myself every day 24/7 hating existing & fighting with myself i just wanted to do anything to get away from myself. but yea thinking beautiful thoughts has changed the way i look at life. instead of being disgusted with myself that im not anywhere near my goals i fell in love w the journey of self love & working towards happiness every day. mental health is definitely a great deal in weight loss. u r beautiful

Omg..This was perfect for me.. I gained 50 lbs since the beginning of Covid.. I had lost 107 lbs but then gained half of it back.. Now I need to get back at doing what works. I did almost exactly what you did..but now I feel this time is so much harder to get motivated.. Thank you so much for your video about Loving yourself.. I kinda let that part disappear and go into quarantine..lol It's time to start showing myself that it's ok to Love me.. You're definitely an inspiration. I Love the calendars..and graphs..Thank you so MUCH! You're very beautiful.❤😁

I’m on a health and weight loss “journey” currently, and also have hypothyroidism and hashimotos. Finding it really hard to shift anything on the scales, even with fairly drastic changes in diet (for the better obviously) and regular exercise. It’s really disheartening but I’m gonna keep going!
@ellenn3 жыл бұрын
It is definitely really hard! I had trouble getting the scale to move for my whole life. So many factors come into our hormones and our immune system, etc so it’s hard to pin point what’s holding you back sometimes! But I’m sure you’re on the right track and I know you’ll find success!

Wow great job! I appreciate that your video was different from others by focusing more on the mental aspect of losing weight, rather than the same tips everyone has heard. I lost 40 ish pounds before covid and have gained 25 back since so I'm trying to get down to the fundamental problem with my weight gain. This video was very inspiring and made me think more about what's going on with me internally. Thank you, subscribed!
@marik11042 жыл бұрын
Your story is very relatable. Thank you for sharing. I have a similar story and have lost 40 lbs over the past few years. I am at a similar weight that you are now and although I'd love the number to be smaller, I feel great and have 0 health problems. I was able to lose weight by being kinder to myself, being more mindful, walking, limiting alcohol, getting good sleep, and eating more whole foods. I also stopped surrounding myself with assholes! That helps too 🙂❤

Thank you! I have struggled my whole life with mental and physical issues. I feel hopeful to lose the weight AGAIN. I appreciate this video. Also, I tried Noon from a recommendation from my old doctor, and I hated it. It was a complete waste of money. I think it is a bad thing that doctors and therapists are recommending it.
