2 weeks sober ! Quit nicotine and Thc and adult Media :) I’m 19 and realized I needed to make changes before things get worse and you’ve helped so much !! Edit : Just turned 21 and have been THC and Nicotine free since this comment ! My biggest addiction and the one im still fighting is Adult media.. It's so easy to fall back esepically on days when you're at home living by yourself. I find going to the gym, going out on car drives and maybe calling someone to chat and detour yourself from ill thoughts can help a lot.. anyways thank for all the cheers and motivation hope you guys get through your own challenges as well :)

Great job catching it so early! You’ll snap your fingers and be 30 and don’t want to still be in that rut. Took me to 38 to stop. But I’m thankful I didn’t wait until I was 70. Life is more enjoyable without it even though it scams you into thinking life is better with it. Once you realize it you’ve got it made.

I'm a week in cold turkey and am convinced that it's the only way to quit cause every time I trusted myself a little and gave an inch, addiction took a mile. And it's such easy access here in Canada there's a store in every corner so 100% the only way to stop is to be sure you will never do it again.

That’s facts man, everytime I would try to “taper off” would just keep me at the exact same spot I was at. The only way to quit marijuana is to just do it. Just get rid of all of whatever you can, and expect to be a slightly moody person for a week or two. I’m so glad that I made the decision two nights ago to throw all my stuff away. I’m technically still a medical patient in the state but I gave my medical card to a family member so I don’t have it either. I thought it’d be miserable, I’ve been through withdrawal from real substances 🤣 not that weed isn’t a real substance but compared to fentanyl and benzos and alcohol it’s nothing. I’ve been in rehab 4 times and 7 months ago was my last. I’ve found God, a 12 step program, a sponsor, health rituals, just everything is so much better in my life. Basically what started this train of thoughts though was this: If you want to quit weed, don’t baby yourself and “try to cut down” because it does nothing in the end but prolong your use. Just get rid of it all and sever the ties you have to people that put you at risk of relapse. God bless

This brought tears to my eyes and is a powerful message. I am 2 months and 5 days sober off weed. But I still have something hanging over my head. I wouldn’t consider myself addicted to alcohol and I don’t drink much. But I would say I am addicted to the occasional feeling of needing an escape and being addicted to not being able to say no to people and feeling like I need to do things because other people around me are. I do not want to drink alcohol because it makes my body sick and it feels like I’m being poisoned every time. I also end up acting in ways that I don’t like. I need to just say no! And if people don’t like it, they can exit my life, stage left. Thank you again Dr Frank, for all you’re doing and continue to do. Let us know when you release your merch! I will gladly purchase to support your mission.

Anyone who has dealt with addiction knows just how hard it can be to overcome. It’s always amazed me how far we will go to feed the beast even when it is doing us great harm in some way. I just received some cardiac test results that are not good and I know I have to stop smoking cigarettes. I’m 58 and I’ve been smoking since I was 30. I enjoy it, and I have become the Queen of excuses when it comes to quitting; but I’ve become tired of the smell, burns in my clothes, the cost, and the habit/addiction controlling every aspect of my life. This is the first video I’ve seen that actually acknowledges the other side of addiction and gives a common sense approach as to what to focus on to overcome it. Thank you for this and wish me luck. 😊🤗

Something clicked in my brain that it had to be done and it had to be done immediately. For my health sake, after 44 years of smoking with just one or two periods of 3 to 6 months break, from this day on I will not make any more excuses to start again.

I am a alcoholic, didnt do AA just replaced it with weed and i cut back for a month, last few weeks smoked way less and then went a day here and a day here, then less at night and now im going to just quit for 4 days at a time while i cold turkey quit cigs, both give me anxiety. I believe its easier when you want to make it happen. Then its saying no for about a week and then stop counting and get on a routine and eat healthy. Thats the plan. Working out and studying my language, also my reward is going on dates with chicks and maybe getting laid, been a year 😂 shouldn't be to hard, going to find me a good one

I do not recommend cold turkey if you were a heavy user and have to maintain a job. I am on day 4 of cold turkey and currently on my way to get some. I didn't sleep or eat at all in the past 4 days. People at work think I'm on meth cause I'm like an undead zombie. I can barely think and function. I'll go restock and smoke because I need to recharge, sleep amd eat or I'll lose my job. I will do the reduction method and cut down, only smoke when the sweats kick in or when its unbearable. If you're unemployed and can sit home all day sure go cold turkey. Even then, being anxious, hungry, sleepy, sweaty, depresseed, angry, irritable, is not fun even when unemployed. I think gradually cutting down if you can manage is much more forgiving and humane. Cold turkey is unnecessary torture. It's too extreme. Cannabis today hits like a truck loaded with Thc, going cold turkey can fuck you up, don't take this lightly

Now I’m vaping and tried to quit vaping numerous times, but every time I try, less than 8 hours after quitting I get panic attacks to the point I start pacing and my mind is racing to the point it’s basically like I’m in flight mode and I get and severe migraines to the point I can’t see and I get physically sick so I’m pacing while I’m about to throw up and it doesn’t stop until I vape again. How to I stop the flight mode and from happening and the migraines so I can quit? 😂😅

second day sober. Trying to go cold turkey and fully cut marijuana out of my life for good. I’ve been smoking consistently for 5 years and Im about to turn 20. Last night trying to sleep was the worst experience of my life… Took melatonin and started a routine and tried to relax around midnight. Next thing I know its 6am and Ive just been tossing, turning, and sweating. Is there anything else at all I can try to get some shut eye😭😭? I don’t want to relapse, but I can’t see myself surviving a week in college with minimalistic sleep.

I want to be here. I really do. I'm running out of money. I'm at over 2gs a day. Life is very empty for me. I think that's half the problem. Weed is like my best mate. It's the sleep thing for me. I know I won't sleep for 3 nights once I quit. And those nights are looooong. I never make it through those nights. Excuses excuses. Fucks sake.

I smoked everyday probably twice a day. took a trip to Portugal and Egypt. Didn’t have it for 10 days, seeing how poor Egypt was. Seeing people happy no matter what they were going thru. Made me think damn I don’t need weed. Only regret was not being able to take enough money to hand out to people. Only if I didn’t smoke weed before, I would’ve had the money to hand out. Glad I’m 6 days away from a month. I will probably smoke later on but not everyday. Smoking all the time, I would always think what my next move would be without taking action. Now I just do my next move without having to always think about it. I sleep better, I breathe better, going to save more.

""71 days sober"" and clean from 'weedly deedly" the commitment was easy - the struggle was fighting myself against all the excuses I had. I picked a couple of areas that had been a challenge, primarily physical issues that always okay'd my use . Then weighed them against a couple of benefits. Benefits won. Dr. Frank you helped another individual become a much better person . All props to you . Big Hugs to everyone fighting the struggle of addiction .

My man the EXCUSES! The fact you used that word makes me laugh because that’s exactly what i call it too. Unfortunately I’m a rare breed, I’m in recovery for opiates, and one of the qualifications to get your weed card in my state is “opiate use disorder”, so this was literally my curse in the making. Now that i have 7 months sober from everything but my medical marijuana, i want nothing more than to be totally not reliant on substances. I work a 12 step program and the fact that everyone there is stone cold sober was starting to get to my head. I started questioning if i belong in the program and stuff, which is terrible because this program is a huge part of my recovery. So… today October 5th, is my first day going without any THC at all! I will admit I’m a little antsy and hungry but not hungry right now, but I’ve quit before in the past and i know how instantly good everything in my life gets when I’m sober. Well, let’s get this weedless journey started. God bless anyone who’s struggling🙏🏻

@@Summer-lq6xh thanks! Todays day 3 and it’s actually not bad at all, I stay busy a lot so it’s hard to get in my head anymore. The only drastic change I’ve noticed is not “knowing what to do” when I get home from work. Since smoking used to be a big ritual part of my sleep and made time go by faster, I actually have time to do the things I want before bed now and I’m not scrambling until 1am because I had to put all my paraphernalia away and stuff. Totally freeing experience, and I’m happy I finally threw my stash out. God bless

@@Natedav51 I am glad to hear things are going good so far! I hope it continues that way as addiction leaves your body. I know for me the harder withdrawal symptoms started in the second week. With irrationality and irritability. Oh and the crazy dreams, which still haven’t stopped after being clean for 2 months lol it’s like a wild ride I strap myself in for every night before bed. You will find things to replace with your time! Every time I quit, I’m always surprised by how I don’t need weed like I thought I did. Keep it up ! :)

At this point, if you’re still going, the withdraws might be still happening. I’ve heard that meditating with the urges and just sitting with the feeling, not acting on it can help it pass. It might be extremely boring, but that’s a signal that it’s working. When you’re done meditating, even the slightest activity will relieve your boredom.

Over the last few years of my life I would smoke weed because it actually got me to get up and be productive with my life. When I stopped I noticed that I wouldn't do as much or be as productive and this morning I felt that same unproductive feeling I thought heavily about smoking but I didn't for some reason I'm not sure how to beat procrastinating but I do know that there are better reasons for why I shouldn't than the valid reasons for why I should.
