I started with five 400-jumps sets in 2019, now I'm doing six 800-jumps sets in 2023 (6 days a week). I have gradually lost some belly fat and also gained some muscles. Happy with the overall results.

Skipping rope has made a spectacular difference in my body - In 2022 I skipped 60 hours overall during the year, and the month I jumped the most was October with 7h 44m. When I think about it, I get myself surprised by how much I dedicate to it, I love doing it. I started when I discovered the JumpRope dudes and another couple of channels here on YT, bought the ropes and ever since 3 years ago, also I have lost 19Kg of weight not only cause of skipping but also because of my change of diet habits - It has taken time but has been all worth it .

@@wetherby6774 It's about the pace and trying to find your own rhythm, practice and see how comfortable you feel, also find a video of someone you want to mimic (that worked for me) and replicate the steps, good luck

Ok so here is the thing that I want to do and I want to spread this message. I am just reiterating the message you just gave with my experience 1. Walking is really great, so I walk around 7.5 km each Day and burn about 500 calories 2. You can't always go out so I made it a habit to walk in my living room too. 3. I have also started jumping rope 500 jumps per day, my goal is to eventually replace more of walking with a jump rope workout because it's less time consuming 4. I also do one push ups and squats on alternate days. I just want to tell everyone it really helps if you walk and you can take anyone on a walk with you, I usually talk to someone on the phone or listen to a podcast while I walk.

Started out where after about 20 rotations I'd mess up so I'd take a walk and start again. After a week I'm up to 50 rotations before I mess up. Really out of shape but this is helping my depression tremendously. Not going to stop either until I'm proficient and fit!

I just started jump rope because of this channel. Last week i jumped rope 3x 30 mins, without changing my diet, same diet no restrictions to sugar. I loss 1.1 kg. Just imagine i did not change anything about my lifestyle and diet but still lose 1.1kg i can say its effective. Now im planning to change my lifestyle and add jump rope to my everyday life, and change my diet to lose weight and be fit to boost my confidence. Thats all i want to achieve, i want to boost my confidence in a way that i am aware of my health and fit. Thank you jump rope dudes ❤

i've been jumping rope almost 6 years now. based on my experience jumping alone can't make me lose belly fat. so i decided to do ab workout n lifting weight too. when i build muscle i no longer have to jump rope every day to stay lean. the combination of cardio n core workout is the way to stay lean. the best part is i can eat anything i want :)

Nutrition is going to be the biggest factor in weight loss. If you don't have much muscle, you'll really need to dial in your nutrition. We don't think there is anything bad about lifting, it's just that you need more equipment to do it.

I did the 1 pound 30 minutes a day with 30 seconds on and 10 seconds rest..changed my whole life I built a pretty dame good physic with just doing jump rope alone..I didn’t touch any weights at all just jump rope so it can be done just have to stay consistent and don’t EAT JUNK FOOD !

I started a very slow buildup to longer skip sessions. I started at 30 sec skip / 1 min rest, then built up to 1 min skip / 1 min rest, then a 2:1 skip/rest ratio. Currently up to 3:1 ratio for about 7 sets but hoping to increase to 10 sets.

I’m back doin the thing after about 8 months of horrific plantar fasciitis- got rid of it eventually, with a foot splint off Amazon - who knew!? I’ve only been at about 3 weeks, but already I’ve gone from 10 sets of one minute with 30 seconds of rest to 4 days a week to five sets of minutes with 30 seconds rest 6 days a week… feeling great! Implemented walking everywhere - under 3 miles? Walk it. I used to cycle everywhere but didn’t realise how little it really burns on shorter journeys.. anyway, good stuff guys!

Nice art hard honest video Very informational i have a hard time tracking calories even with my fitness pal i have a hard time finding what im about to eat im sure you have a video on it just brining it up because it is the key to weight loss and im sure others probably have a hard time as well

Been watching you for a long while... and took up skipping with a heavy rope in 4 months (after skipping with a light rope for 4 months)..... like that you tell it like it is... "You can't spot reduce!". Most other channels will tell people to this exercise, that exercise to target certain areas for fat reduction.

Did 5 minutes my first two days jumping rope, 10 minutes the next two days, 12, 15,18,20,25,30 etc. I'm now around 45 minutes per day and have lost nearly 9 pounds in a little over 3 weeks... All from jumping rope and burpees

I am not sure should I quit jumping rope When I walk upstairs, my left knee will have popping sound but no pain My knees usually feel stiff, uncomfortable or pain after jumping, and my weight is 65kg I do 3 times a week, 10 sets of 1 minute jumping with 30 seconds resting

Mr. Witmer, I wanted to answer regarding why walking is an effective tool for losing fat. Actually, walking is a low intensity steady state (LISS) cardio exercise and while doing LISS cardio, the percentage of calories burnt is mostly from fats; on the other hand high intensity interval training (HIIT) cardio consumes calories from both carbs & fats. Regardless of these facts, everyone needs to find their methods according to their fitness levels and DO THE THING !!!

Hey guys! Do you have any tips for someone who gets a headache/pain in the back of the head after jumping for a bit? I have gotten the pain twice now, its right where the neck and the back of the skull connects. Is it common for beginners? Am i landing too hard or tensing my neck?

Sounds like you might have poor posture or just trying to do too much too soon. Jump rope is intense! You gotta ease in so it's not too much on you. If your posture if poor it'll help you stand taller, but that will be uncomfortable as you change.

My q. I am 25kgs to lose and i am determined to do rope jumping about 4-6 days a week, I have started slow and will eventually do 15-20 min everyday (busy lifestyle), with calorie deficit. I want to imagine myself in jan 2024, what can 12 months of rope jumping do to your body when you are overweight, + i follow my diet now...

You have two options and we can only give you an idea of what happens: 1) Do nothing (things don't get better, maybe worse) 2) jump rope for 15-20 minutes per day and eat to support your goals (things get better). Do you think option 1) or 2) will bring you closer to your dream goal?

I am AMPed .. great jump set AMP great app …. With the get lean jump rope set I lost last year 22kg now with the AMP set I exercise more efficient and I’m challenged by all the different workouts in the app … joyful I’m jumping everyday 30 min .

So I am at 240 and 30%+ body fat. What else should I be doing besides jumping rope 3-5 minutes every other day? I know you mentioned walking, but it just seems like that's not enough. Should I be lifting weights as well? Should I jump rope on days I don't lift?

Getting CONSISTENT! Walking is HUGE! It's low stress and easy on the body. To lose weight you're going to need be IN A CALORIE DEFICIT! When you are in a calorie deficit it's tougher to do stuff like HIIT and weight lifting. Walking is great. Just get consistent and BE PATIENT! You got this!

I am not active! First time skipping today and I'm not going to lie! 1 min completely puffs me out! So I will be doing 1 min catch my breath and so on until I hit my ideally 5 minutes.. my weight just gets me down way too often its my time to shine and I fully intend to do this!

I'm not athletic; been jumping for a couple weeks now (30 mins per session) for every other day. Yesterday I tried jumping rope two days in a row and my arms are really sore. Looks like I should do it every other day

yeup! make sure your nutrition and rest is on point too! If you are grossly under eating and doing a ton of new high intensity activity, you won't be able to recover.

I'd say get clearance from your doctor first before jump roping or doing any type of exercise. Go to a pro. I would seek advice from anyone here on social media.

I feel your pain Emily. I had sciatica for 22 years. As everyone has said here, first see your family doctor. Second, look for a therapeutic massage therapist in your area. They have a specific massage for sciatica that will bring relief. It initially hurts, and you need to ice your legs & back after the session. It will take a several sessions (every one is different so be patient), but it's worth it. I'm free from sciatica pain for 4 years now 🙌🏽 and am grateful for every pain-free minute of being able to walk without pain shooting down my legs. Also do stretches for sciatica and piriformis syndrome if you can. Good luck and good health.

I used to jump for 30 min 6 days a week. I started to lose muscle and my big head started to stand out. I reduced to 20 min and I was still losing muscle. I am trying to find the balance what advice do you have for me?

Eat more food and sleep more. How do you know you lost muscle? Did you go a bod pod? Did you get a scan? Or did you lose body fat and now that you look thinner you think you lost muscle? It's really tough to lose muscle from jumping rope. You have to have some serious health issues to lose muscle.

In July 16 I started my weight loss journey from starting at 205. In 102 (little more than 3 months) days I managed to lose 22 pounds from jump roping and riding my bike to the gym but mostly jump roping. Granted I was also riding my bike a lot and lifting weights. 2 months ago i stopped lifting weights and just focused on jump roping and stretching. 2 months of that I lost 10 pounds. I jump rope 10 minutes straight intensely and can say jump roping is a fantastic way to lose weight and build endurance. I feel like I can jump all day if I do it at a moderate pace. But I go hard so I can burn fat and get better. I personally think I’m really good at jump roping. You would think I’m training to mike Tyson himself. Only to get the biggest L of my life but still I love jump roping

Yo I started jump roping after losing 26lbs from intense workout and cold showers and I started jump roping 1 hour a day everyday sense march and I’m down and extra 10 😎👍, also I did develop jumpers knee at a point but kept pushing through and it eventually went away is that normal ?

Everyone is different but we've found that most people like seeing what they look like after they shed 20 pounds. Once that weight is gone, you can decide how you want to structure your nutrition/exercise to build results.

We don't recommend it, but probably not for the reasons your thinking: 1) It's boring. 2) why count? 3) no variety. follow one of our 45 minute workouts and eat to support your goals! Stay consistent, get results! Sooooo simple!

I have 'rope less' jump ropes and use them at the top of the hour for 5-10 minutes or 1000 skips during the work day to get my 10,000 'steps' in because I can't really walk at work. It's probably not the same but it does help me keep moving. I just ordered the weighted crossrope rope less set. The issue I have is figuring out the calories I am burning.

Depends. How long is your rope now? If you are newer, go for the longer one. If you like a short rope, grab the shorter one.

We're not doctors (and we don't count skips), but it sounds like you tried to go from 0 to 100mph and your body never had time to adjust. Go see a pro!!

It’s easy to jump rope if you are not overweight, I suggest reinforce your legs to a point that both legs are equally strong otherwise one leg will have up on you .

You can jump rope till the cows come home but if you don't cerate a calorie deficit you will not lose body fat. It needs to be a practical deficit. If you starve yourself you will lose lean muscle instead of fat. Lowering caloric intake by 500 calories is a good way to go. Do some IF and jump rope daily and you will get to your goal. Don't be in a hurry. One day at a time. Its a journey.Don't quit!
