What we spend money on, and more importantly what we spend our time doing, is the most important thing to dial-in during retirement planning. The rest comes on it's own.

You got my attention. Then it took me three times to watch it to find out what the solution you are proposing to is. I think what you are saying is that each of us needs to figure out what amount of money we need to be able to do what we want in retirement

Ha. Thanks for the comment. It is great for my 'watch time' statistics if you had to watch it three times. But, I actually want it to be easier to understand. I sometimes get off on a tangent. But, you figured it out. I really wanted this video to be about 4 min. long. My point was just that watching videos about how much someone ELSE needs to retire doesn't help you, and YOU need to figure out how much You need to retire. And the FINANCE part of your retirement is really the ONLY thing that is not "one size fits all". Thank you for watching and commenting.

I guess you missed the point. The point is, watching videos about how money other people need to retire won't help you. Instead you need to figure out how much your life will cost in retirement and then you can figure out how much you need.

@@TheRetirementality I have learned a lot from watching videos. Sometimes you just need inspiration. Fear sometimes drive us to make the wrong decisions. seeing how other people are handling their finances and see how you compare can be helpful.

This guy must have degrees in Economics! I mean he can tell us to stop watching retirement info. Sure, there are bad videos, but there are good ones as well on the topic! Want a good retirement. Be aware of inflation and your health. Either have a good pension or over $250,000 in the bank. IRAs are only good for about 7 years, if that. Now have the following: Owe nothing on anything (mortgage, car payment, credit card payment with minimum payments). Have good health insurance. Don't rely heavily on Social Security. Finally, watch that spending.

Ha, I didn't say to stop watching retirement videos. I said stop watching videos about how much money OTHER people need to retire and focus on how much money YOU need to retire. And then I specifically said to watch other kinds of retirement videos that will help more. I'd love to see you do a video on how to retire with $250K in the bank. You can educate me on that one.
