As someone who is 62 next month, post menopausal for 2 decades, very healthy, very fit, and my ideal weight, I agree that healthy eating is "the" most important thing you can do for yourself. I do eat meat, I believe my DNA requires it as I am from Northern European descent, but I have virtually cut all junk food out of my diet, I don't eat any pastas and very little bread, but quite a bit of fresh fruit and vegies. In fact I have an apple and potato salad for breakfast everyday and two glasses of lemon water with my lunch everyday. I have no qualms refusing junk food at people's houses and it is never a problem. You can actually see the invisible nod as they realize that that might be why I am as healthy as I am. That and the fact that I am very active. The other really important aspect to healthy aging, is to keep learning - never stop learning new things.

@EvelynM-vlogs Жыл бұрын
@@Jaylade Unfortunately I can't help you there, I live in Canada. In Cambpell River on Vancouver Island off the coast of BC to be specific. I am of Scandinavian/UK ancestry and I need the protein from meat, sadly, because if I had my way, I would never eat meat again. That being said, I need to lose a lot of weight now so I can hopefully get back to being skinny. I gave up a lot of soft drinks, bread, and pasta and seemed to gain weight so not sure what is happening.

Good for her! I'm 65 and have noticed a big metabolic change in my body this year. I had to get retuned to what my body was telling me. I had to get MOVING every single day by following active exercise regimes and changing my eating habits! I'm feeling and looking better each day. For me I reduced carbs, salt and sugar and exercise at least an hour daily, taking one day off a week to reset. The other big thing that seems to have helped is I set a routine bedtime. 10pm-6am. 👍

Great informative video! Seeing someone (your Mom) talking about her positive experience with this meal plan, etc., was really eye-opening! I know the foods to eat and what not to eat but it sounds like I need to do more to loose this belly fat and extra 10 pounds I'm carrying around! I feel exactly the same way as your Mom, my mid-section is way too big and it doesn't feel like ME! However, it's super difficult to get rid of...I've tried many things but, of course, life gets in the way as in going out to eat, stopping at a fun bar on a walk, parties! I downloaded your free meal plan so I will be looking at that and hopefully get going on loosing this mid-section soon!!!

Your mom said she was tall. I am 66 and only 5'1. I have to be extra careful how much food I take in a day. I eat about the same thing and same time every day. Supper may vary, but it is still light. I intermit fasting most days. I am 130, which to some that may seem overweight for my height. I was holding at 125. My body just does not like to be any lower than that. The 5 pounds has nothing to do with food change, but a knee injury which has kept me for many months now going for my long walks. I don't see it, but some family members think I look frail. Although I do know as you get older you look much healthier with a few extra pounds.

Namaste! I have been WFPB since Nov 2017 (right before Thanksgiving!). I am 63 years old now and fell off the wagon last year. I stopped exercising and plopped my butt in a chair and read books and played games and gained almost 20lbs. I still ate WFPB, but my husband eats SAD and brings in a lot of snack foods and Panera bagels, which I started eating last November, right around our 30th anniversary. I am still struggling to get rid of the craving for sugar and salty snacks. I did it before, so I know I can do it again. I am exercising again, but not at the intensity I had been before I stopped.

Namaste! I love you two so much! I still have a lot of health to gain back and some weight to loose. I have Hashimoto and rosacea and being a single mum of two in the beginning of menopause and sometimes it's really overwhelming...so I find peace in eating for health and not for weight loss. I haven't meditate before so I am willing to try this out for reducing my stress. It would be so wonderful if you can make a beginners meditation video or write down which app you are using. Is it Insight?

Walking everyday & small breakfast. Along with a good lunch at very light dinner has kept me at 125 over 57 years.

I can attest to the fact that if you start eating health foods, you will acquire a real taste for them and not only will you tolerate them, you will truly love the taste of them. My mouth is watering right now just thinking of all the nutritious vegetables I eat.

This is good. I’m a 57 year old post menopausal woman who is struggling to lose those last 20 pounds to get to my weight when I was in my 30’s and 40’s.
