“New skillset unlocked” Floor Jack to the rescue
@SmokeShow.236 ай бұрын
Recently purchased a winter car… scooped a 2019 ford flex Ecoboost with 39k miles. Installed a tune and the tranny started jerking when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Did some research and found out that Ford sells their vehicles with low transmission fluid straight from the factory. Even newer vehicles, for example the Explorer ST’s. I drained the transmission fluid and sure enough it was nearly 2 quarts low. Fluid was black! Can only imagine how fantastic it will be in getting that transmission serviced in a few years once I put some miles on it. I plan on changing the transmission fluid again by 60k.

I'm aGM tech and I know we have to measure fluid level with the engine on in neutral while checking the temp. So it could have been overfilled
@DominiAeternum9 ай бұрын
Why neutral?
@salohcin57029 ай бұрын
@@DominiAeternum because in park the transmission is virtually off with no pump. With it in neutral the pump is on and circulating fluid to all accessories. There is roughly 8 quarts in the transmission assembly then another 8 quarts in the lines and coolers. In park you are only checking what has fallen back to the transmission. Thank you for your question!

It couldn't be the pilot bearing or the throwput bearing. If it was the pilot bearing then the whine sound could be more of a growl sound and it wouldn't get louder with wheel speed, it would get louder with engine speed. And the throwout bearing would only make noise when the clutch pedal is being pushed in
@ChrysGaines10 ай бұрын
yea i recently learned that the trans input shaft bearing can cause noise like that. if this thing really has 250k miles on it and has obviously been abused, then the new trans should solve all my problems 👍🏾
