I always wonder why people make such a big deal about the Inca not having wheels. It's a mountainous empire, people! Look at the terrain, look at the steep slopes. If they hadn't been wiped out right at that moment I think there's a good chance the Incas would have also conquered most of modern day Colombia and a small part of Venezuela. It's mostly the same climate type and was home to several advanced civilizations that would have been really nice to conquer such as the Musicas and the Timoto-Cuicas.
@celdur46352 жыл бұрын
We have records of what happened, as soon as they got to southern Colombia most Inca advisors didn't want to move forward, the Emperor pushed forward anyways and confirmed what he was told, quote "this people are too poor and unorganized, we are going to have to teach them to do everything from scratch and spend many years doing so and transport many settlers to do so" "and its worse the further north you go" This is what the spies told the Inca, and this is why they didn't advanced further north or to what is today the Pampa region in Argentina and Uruguay.

@@connormurphy683 The point is that the Incas had no intention of advancing further north. After Huayna Capac conquered the "Pastos" (culture in present-day Colombia), they also conquered the "Quillacinga" and despite the fact that they were under Inca rule for a while, Huayna Capac decided to abandon them because, according to him, they were a town too uncivilized for the standards of the region at that time. In fact, according to Pedro Cieza de León, the "pasto" did not even know cattle rising, so they presented losses for the empire, the Incas were forced to educate them on these issues. In a last attempt with the region, the Incas sent informants further north, but these explorers reported that they had only detected extremely poor people, who practiced cannibalism. It is the same reason why they had no intention of conquering the current territory of Paraguay. Sarmiento de Gamboa described the tribes that inhabited that place (chiriguanaes), as a nation of mountain people, who went naked and openly practiced cannibalism. Something that clearly would not be useful to the empire. Probably the same happened with the south of the empire.

We know exactly how it is! USA seems to like a lot of our stuff, but they don't really like us! Sorry to hear this is also reflected in peru for Peru's Native ppl. Lots Peruvianos in USA, my friend, who is Peruvian, took me to a Peruvian restaurant, had fish and potatoes Peruvian style, OMG! delicious! Took my mom and sis, it's one of favorite restaurants!
