"212 SOLDIERS FOR THE QUEEN" is a new book recently written by Australian author, David Tough, and published by Echo Books also of Australia. The book can be ordered online through AMAZON or maybe WH Smith bookshop can get you one. If you have relatives who served in the British Army from 1961 - 1984, it may be worth your while to buy one to see if you are mentioned in the book. Most of the men and women who were enlisted in Fiji back then, 212 in all, are detailed in the book.

I just finished reading a book on about how the commonwealth fought world war two. As a Fijian i was disappointed that none of it mentioned any Fijian. Reading your comment shines hope that'll be able to read something about my forefathers. Vinaka vakalevu taciqu.

The British army needs 2 division of Fijians, 2 divisions of Gurkhas and 2 divisions of Sikhs. Imagine if you had 30,000 men for each one. It would be like having a second army.

@Bullet tooth tony​​@@galacticwarrior1917..it had been asked previously by 1 of the Fijian officers in the British Army. But was turned down by the British Army smart hierachies. Because they know when Fijians are together they could be very dangerous. Especially at what happens when they get drunk, just a few of them can take out a whole camp. Thats why they were not given the priveledge of having their own regiment like what has been given to the Ghurkhas..
