I am on an intellectual ice floe. Friends and relatives who heretofore were accessible and amenable to lively banter have become deeply entrenched and committed to their version of current events. Has this impacted my resolutions? Yes. Am I searching for places to lay blame other than on myself? Yes. Have I gotten back on track??? YES! Why am I back on track? Because I have you , dear Heather, your laughter, your bright voice and your supportive platform has made all the difference between my bad habit of wallowing in self pity/ ( masquerading as righteous indignation) and holding myself accountable. posted this note on facebook too. Today I had to look myself in the eye and admit that I've been Thinking about living clean eating but not actually Doing. 1. eating way too much of the yummy stuff( lots of pasta and tofu and cashew spread galore, and potato chips made with oil!) and 2. this is the main factor- being in denial of having an alcohol problem - I have been drinking way too much red wine. Every day. Though I somehow managed to lose 20 pounds I've put it all back on. This morning after being in tears, I realized I don't want to give up, so I packed up my entire expensive wine collection and gave it to my neighbor. What did Chef AJ say? When in the house it's in your mouth! and Clean environment= no will power necessary! I already have lots of beans, greens, potatoes, fruit, other vegetables and lots of favorite recipes to keep me satisfied. I just need to stop eating so much. Tomorrow morning I will start walking again and make it a daily habit. My goal is to be fitter and leaner before the Arizona summer heat sets in in June. It's all in the mindset. I weigh 220 today and my weight loss goal over time is to weigh 130. My husband has pledged to do it with me!

Heather, your reminder of habits over goals is great. 66 days to create a new habit. I didn't know that. So now I'll be aware to carry on good systems for 66 days to stabilize those habits.

I am keeping at it with tracking even on off days. This is a journey and our paths may meander a bit and we may stumble but we will get there and hopefully stop to smell the flowers along the way.

I am still struggling with not drinking alcohol. I suffer from chronic pain issues so when I can't take the pain, I will self medicate. I still keep trying. My overall food choices have been good. Maintaining is still a good accomplishment. You look great.

I'm doing this going on 6 years. I got to a certain weight and then stayed there for years. I was under the delusion of eat all you want as long as it's plant-based. Now I'm not talking processed junk I'm talking plant-based eating but eating as much as you want. Never tell a food addict that could eat as much as they want of anything even carrots. As soon as I started counting calories weight started dropping off. I think I have come to the conclusion that the sad reality is you have to count calories even if you are plant-based

Me, all my wks have been good, 34 months in, & thank Chef AJ, & u & Tami & Tom, for sharing on yt & i did the work & now, i am still 2 lbs from my 100 lb goal. can hardly wait, i am loving this new healthy , smaller me, even with loose wrinkly skin, as i am 68 1/2. take care & be safe, see u next time xo

I’m still struggling. I feel like starches are working opposite for me or maybe I’m not eating enough idk 🤦🏽♀️I’m not really losing. Especially if I eat rice
