The biggest lesson I have learned from 35+ years of dieting is that a binge only happens if you restrict calories too much. I've been doing the 50/50 plate and eating until fully satisfied and it's been working really well.

I basically do a 50/50 plate too. Have for years (when doing well.) Glad it is working for you

i am so lucky that after i detoxed from Chef AJ's SOFAS free, i don't crave those old foods that made me fat, sick & nearly dead, & wouldn't of cared if i did, 34 months ago. I do have taters cooked with bit salt & oil, 1-2 times a wk, i don't call it cheat meal, it's just more potatoes!! part of my plan, 99% on plan. & 34 months have lost 98 lbs, 2 more to go, to my goal. Chef AJ even responds to my many comments under her yt's, & said "let us know, when u reached it", i always tell her, she is my hero. i will b2 69 in June, & 34 months in, & NO yo yo'ing, THIS time, but i sure had a lot of it, the 1st 55 yrs of "DIEting" :(( take care Heather, love u girl. 👍💖🙏💪 PLANT STRONG 🥦🍠🌽🥬🍅🥒🧄🥕 L❤️VE 💋 there is magic in them there veggies & fruit !! hehe but it's true !! ❣️❌⭕️

What keeps me on track is rejecting recipes that aim to approximate my trigger foods by using whole plant substitutes. When my brain tries to play that game of , “ How can we make xyz vegan/ oil free/ no sugar”’ I have bad experiences. Either the result is unpalatable , and out of stubbornness I eat it anyway or if it tastes great , then I’ll gravitate towards another less compliant vegan treat and before you know it, I’m off plan altogether. So I do better without looking for ways to replicate trigger foods.

You are amazing and love you, girl! I don’t think I can do this is where I am... but I’ll keep coming. Thanks you, Heather!

I’m super proud of you. I know this is a very difficult journey. I struggle with water retention too, I know how frustrating that is. You know what to do and you’re doing a LOT for your health. I find it helpful to take the time to appreciate my 3 “G”. The good things I did that day, especially when I wanted to do something different. Habits are sticky, good ones and bad ones. Let’s work on doing today that we want reinforced tomorrow. That helps me. We can do this! Sending much love and support.

Hi, just wondering why you would have these foods in your house. We all know "if it's in your house it's in your mouth" ❤️ If we have food addictions, we have to treat it like any other addiction. We have to take it very seriously and keep a clean environment. Otherwise you're going to stay on the merry-go-round. I finally got off that ride and it feels great! I'm pulling for you! ❤️🙏

Oh, I don't have any of those things in my house, ever, anymore. I can see why you would get that impression because I was trying to be funny with my examples. Only healthy food up in here: fruits, veggies, whole grains, beans, and no processed food. My house is my safe space

So my takeaway is that forging ahead, sticking with my daily food and activity plan, is the important thing. Even when dealing with issues that one may not have control over, such as fluid retention, can be put in perspective. Occasionally eating one cookie or skipping one salad is not what to focus on but instead focus on all the good decisions made over time. Focus on how good it feels to be eating the right foods. Did I get it right?
