Just turned 80 and had not played golf due to c-19. Started playing again and have busted my hump getting swing speed from 59 to 69. Took these tips to range today and just focusing on HANDs HIGHER, got it up to 80 with the driver with accuracy. Enjoyed again hitting golf balls. Will take it to course on Tuesday. & will work on other tips as time goes on. Next target is 90 Thank you

For a guy in his mid 50s getting back into golf after about 5 years off, this is one of the best videos I have found when I realize that my flexibility is not as good as it was even 5 years ago. I am working on getting more flexible, but the tip about opening up my left foot at address is really helpful!!!

Clay, great tips for us older guys to get more rotation. Thanks for the drills. As an aside, I’ve added your “lawnmower” drill to my workout routine. Glad to see that you put the “X-Factor” swing model to rest.

Hey Clay I always believed that when your arms come up too high on the backswing, that promotes and over the top follow through which as we know leads to a bad slice.. for those who do have to raise your arms higher as your illustrating, could you address how to bring the club from inside and out from that position.. this is something I struggle with.. thank you

I am noticing when I try to do a weight shift, I end up lunging at the ball. So now I am trying to slow everything down, and building back. Any tips on lunging?

Don't rule out chiropractic. As a patient of chiropractic for over 20 years, it's a legitimate option that can increase range of motion. Its saved me from having surgery for pinched nerves

It seems like you slide forward in the demonstration , but not in the actual swing?
@bobmagna3 жыл бұрын
The concept is good, but this instruction can be misleading. In the shift demonstrations (non full swings), his head moves quite a bit to his right. It seems to me that these demos encourage a person to move his/her head right (trail) in the backswing, which can lead to all sorts of issues. Double checking his full swing, his head stays centered on the backswing.

Not sure that the title of this video is accurate. Not sure all us seniors can do what you’re suggesting.
@redhed97763 жыл бұрын
once you hit 60, your movement will decreased by over 50%... you lose 10% muscle mass @ decade starting @ 30 yrs old...that DOES mean you. There's a reason the Champion tour players aren't playing on the PGA tournament... their bodies naturally eroded....after 60, it's mainly ARM swing, because your back cant take the twisting like it did....there's not many Gary Players out there...great video on this subject, as most instructional vids are geared towards the younger people.
@j.t.daulton46353 жыл бұрын
I think once you stop exercising you dry up and rust. I've seen plenty of 60 + guys who can still make a full turn. Not as fast but the range of movement shouldn't decrease.
@jeffreyyoungblood74383 жыл бұрын
Older golfers are hilarious. I know a ton who don't hit anything far but they hit it straight and end up with better scores than guys driving it almost 300.
