I have a problem when I do planche pushup. My feet keeps sliding closer until I after a few reps fall forward and have to readjust. This is super annoying and prevents me from doing that many reps. I combat this by placing my toes behind a door frame and suddenly I can lean a lot and do much more reps. But am I cheating because I now hold a lot of weight back with my toes? I guess I am. But how do I otherwise solve this problem?
@dariharran9403 жыл бұрын
@@luffebassen Try to activate and squeeze your glutes and Quads as they can put pressure on your feet and toes that can force them not to move. Aim for a straight hip and activate your ABS, Avoid pike at the hip as possible as you can. I believe that is what causes the toes and feet to pulled forward. . Note: I’m not a Trainer. Personal experience only and might be wrong, but that is what worked for me
@SimonsterStrength3 жыл бұрын
@@luffebassen Yes, you're probably holding some weight back with your toes. My advice would be to reduce the intensity so you can perform the exercise without falling forward. It sounds like you're trying an intensity that is out of reach.

I've been wondering about this! super helpful and valid points! how important is it for your feet to be pointed though as you're learning the planche or planche push up? the feet don't point the same way against the wall.

Try stretch wrist beforehand and changing hand placement to have thumbs mor forward or even hands completely out to the sides. Just make sure fingers are splayed 🖐️

Unfortunantly, the feet against the wall method can easily be cheated by how much you pike your hips up during the movement, which again, can make each rep inconsistent.
@SimonsterStrength3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the same can be said of the head to wall method. The feet to wall method eliminates one form of cheating and incentivises effort and intensity. Just be mindful to maintain alignment. With the feet against the wall, there one less thing to worry about.
@TacticalDimples Жыл бұрын
But at that point, you’re breaking form. If you’re engaging your core/glutes properly, you wouldn’t be able to pike in the first place.

Do you push your feet into the wall? Does that reduce effort even with the same distance?
@SimonsterStrength3 жыл бұрын
I don’t actively push them into the wall as the exercise is already hard enough. Pushing them into the wall would increase effort/difficulty by increasing the demand on the shoulder flexors.

Would planche leans be sufficient to achieve Planche ?
@StrengthSachin3 жыл бұрын
What should be our goal be when doing lean with feet against the wall? My legs are 36 inches long (hip to feet) so keeping my hands 36 inches away from the wall and leaning forward should be end goal, is it?
@Jeff_1233 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you can do that while keeping protraction, depression and ppt.

do it until your feet lift up :p then you have your full planche!

Does planche only require your hands to be at your waistline (center of gravity) to be able to lift your legs up. Meaning can I only train straight arm strength and shoulders without doing any leans?

I had to give up after many years of no progress. The planche and other exercises require your body to have a particular anatomy for it to be doable (chicken legs combined with very large deltoids) . Folks like me with bigger legs and calves are at a tremendous disadvantage.
