When they are talking about Mumbai , they are talking about the domestic cricket structure which has teams from all the regions of india. This is sort of the "feeder structure" into the international test cricket. This is the traditional form of cricket. WHen they are talking about the mumbai indians, they are talking about one of the teams in the IPL, which is the t20 format of cricket

Talking about the states competing in test the tournament is called Ranji Trophy the team names are majorly based on names of provinces during British rule so the bombay province team is Mumbai which majorly represent whole of Maharashtra, Mumbai has won most ranji trophy 42 times, and also the latest tournament also

Maybe the difference in approach might be, in baseball terms, "Do you want to play the World Series for fame and glory?" versus "Would you rather play seven games of Home Run Derby for the bucks?"

IPL is very much ahead (viewership & income ) of league around the world. One of the reason is Cricket board in India(BCCI) dont allow India players to participate in other league. Cricket Raaz English is a channel, which presents stories and back stories of historical events happend in Cricket. Take a look on those videos too.

In the UK the county team (which is how it’s organised below the national level) will play both test cricket and T20 essentially, so it’s not necessarily either or currently, most cricketers play both

In India, the BCCI conducts many tournaments within the country which basically governs who will play in the National team, So for First class cricket ( test cricket) 5 day-one has Ranji Trophy which has been running since 1934 (before independence) similarly Vijay Hazare trophy for 50 overs cricket and IPL for 20 overs cricket. IPL has only 10 teams currently for 10 states But Ranji trophy- the oldest one has 38 teams having with some states having 2 teams like Maharastra state has a team and its capital Mumbai also has a separate team, and some non-location bases teams like the Railways team, Services sector team. So , a lot of people play domestic cricket as Ranji but only about 20-30 players are given national level contract

Test cricket is a hard sell for young players. But to be honest, most modern test matches end up being played like they're 50 over matches anyway. It's very rare now to see a stubborn batsmen stay in for 8 hours and score 50 runs like was common in the past.

I guess they are referring to the mumbai IPL team, as well as the mumbai cricket setup, the players and infrastructure. We have the IPL, but we also have first class cricket - with the Ranji trophy, Dulip trophy and others. And the states have their own teams. So they refer to 'mumbai cricket' in this context (the mumbai IPL team, the ranji team, the mumbai based players and so on).

Its tradion vs the modern game and the two most different formats of the sport, Traditionally test cricket, a game that lasts five days, was seen as the pinnacle of the game, it tests every aspect of your technique, including longevity, so 'batting long' is a term for not taking many risks, protecting your wicket and accumulating runs over time, which you had plenty of in a five day game, T20 is the most modern form of the game, and time is a huge factor, you only have 20 overs (120) deliveries to score as many runs as possoble, so the mantra these days is to go hard from the word go, its had a huge impact on the game, the amount of different attacking shots they play has gone through the roof, and most modern players are short format players first, which has had a negative impact on the standars of test cricket, and the t20 leagues have pushed tests to the fringes, including some players opting to opt of of test cricket altogether

So we have different cups in which different state teams participate leading upto Ranji trophy ( to put it in simple words) Ranji trophy is from where usually players are picked for India based on their performances, though nowadays IPL's performance is also good enough but that not the guaranteed one...so in Ranji trophy different states of India play against each other and so they kept on mentioning Mumbai.....on the other hand Mumbai Indians is name of a franchise in IPL usually team names in IPL are based on different cities ( it's not mandatory though)

Of everything goes on the way IPL thought, but in 2010 with 10 teams already, by the current time it has to be 14 teams . But in 2012 issues which ban 2 Teams + plus given 2 teams a Temporary participation which ended up still there are only 10 teams whereas in all 17 seasons in total 15 Teams has been Participated in IPL.

Luke, please do a reaction on Sachin Tendulkar 🇮🇳 - The Master Blaster. He (after the late great Donald Bradman) is the greatest player of all time. His records are phenomenal like being the highest test batsman with 15,921 runs in his career, has 100 centuries (to his name - a combined total of centuries made in test and One Day Internationals) and he’s represented India 🇮🇳 in 200 test matches.

It's really not an either/or between Test cricket and T20 cricket. Firstly, they are 2 different formats of the game, and not played at the same time. To become good at cricket, you really have to master the basics which are necessary for both formats of the game. T20 is played between franchises (IPL is just one T20 cricket league, the one in India, there are other T20 leagues in other countries). Test cricket (long-form cricket) is played between national teams. T20 (short-form cricket) requires different skill set to Test cricket (though some players are great at both). The IPL league is played for 2 months of the year (April/May) and no Indian Test cricket is typically scheduled during the IPL, because they are run by the same organization. Playing for your country in Test cricket is the ultimate honor, like playing for your national team in the football/soccer World Cup (Messi plays for Argentina and won the World Cup for them, but also plays for a club and wins his league champhionship for his club). As far as most countries are concerned, players who make it to the test team in India at least make a LOT LOT LOT of money, and also get endorsements. Yes, the top players in the IPL get a lot more money even than that, but it's still *all* over the average salary you'd make in any other industry.

The thing about T20 batting you want power hitters like baseball, some of the greatest batsman ever to have played the game would not do well batting in T20. Cricket will become just like every other sport requiring people to be 6 foot plus to play the game just like most other professional sports you will have to be very talented and the coaches to see that protential talent to be considered. "Sorry Mr Bradman and Mr Lara you are very talented but since you are both only 5'8" i dont think you will be able to play T20 cricket". Just imagine never seeing Sunil Gavaskar (5'2"), David Boon (5'3") or Sachin Tendulkar is (5'5'') because they where considered too small to play cricket.

This is a really poor video (original) because their premise itself, and their opinions are wrong in every way. They do not have a good understanding of cricket reality, and Nasser should know better - he's likely just been paid to voice the script, so it's not really his original idea (?). But a former England captain who covers cricket in the media in a big way should really know better.
