They did Revan dirty in SWTOR just for the sake of letting a bunch of kids beat Vitiate as a group of nameless generic characters. Revan was like the Anakin Skywalker of his day and KOTOR 3 should have been the story of how he took down the Sith Emperor.

@@BigUriel I'm going to argue that at this point there are quite a few plot points where it has justified that the "bunch of kids" defeated Vitiate where Revan could not. Because first and foremost Revan was a balance of Sith and Jedi and Vitiate has locked him up for ages himself. He simply didn't have the support he needed to take on the Emperor. Once the threat of Vitiate seems very real, that's when both sides thought this guy is very dangerous, maybe Revan was right. At one point in SWTOR both Jedi and Sith were very apprehensive of Revan because he was a Jedi with Sith teachings and vice versa. And he basically turned both states against him for recruiting traitors for his cause. That's obviously a bit of a no no

The trailers for the Knights of the Fallen Empire will always give me goosebumps with how good it was. I'll never get over the opening where Valkorian says "A man can have anything...if he's willing to sacrifice." Extremely chilling. I am, however, glad we're done dealing with him in all of this forms.

My main was the Hero of Tython... I feel so hypervigilant about Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion at this point, having already had to kill him 4 times. I'd like to think that life returning to Nathema, followed by that final confrontation with him accompanied by all of the ghosts of Jedi and Sith past who opposed him is a sign he's gone for good this time but I find I can't allow myself to lull into that sense of security, lest it be false.

@@Matli1804 Well the Hero of Tython was mentally enslaved by the Emperor the same as Revan for a time. In fact, when going to take him down the final time, Lord Scourge even describes how that has kind of 'vaccinated' the Hero of Tython from the Emperor's further influence, just as his own connection to the Emperor as the previous Wrath before our Sith Warrior and Kira Carsen's connection as one of the Children of the Emperor. So yeah, as the Emperor's Wrath you do have some measure of poetic justice in taking down the Emperor that final time... although you weren't made 'immortal' like your predecessor, Scourge, was. As for Darth Nox/Oculus/Imperius... well that character is about as connected to the Emperor as the Barsen'thor is... which is to say not directly. Yeah, they did serve on the Dark Council for a brief time while the Emperor was still on the throne of the Sith Empire... but that's no more directly connected than the Barsen'thor, who rooted out the Children of the Emperor, including the First Son himself.

Vitiates sith empire was the sith at their best before the rule of 2. When Sidious says in episode 3 once more the sith will rule the galaxy he is referencing Vitiates sith empire after the treaty of coruscant when they got control of 2/3 of the galaxy. This just shows how big his legacy among the sith is despite the fact that he cared more about himself and becoming an all powerful god.

​@@DrBoofenstein i'm a bit confused who said that Vitiate is a bad sith? But if you want to know if Vitiate is a good sith or not well that depends on you point of view. In a way he's the greatest sith because of his ambiton, lust for power, the sucess of his empire and his willingles to break his chains which in this case is being free of death. However he didn't 100% follow the sith code and practised some teachings of other orders even the jedi which isn't really a bad thing but some could se it as being against the sith code. Plus his plans would effectivly destory the sith empire and most of the known galaxy only to replace it by an empire that is not really loyal to the dark side and the way of the sith. Even the ancient sith spirits didn't support Vitiate because he even by their standard he was going way to far and thinking only of himself and not even a little about what's best for the sith order or the dark side itself. That's why Marka Ragnos and the other sith spirits on Korriban were wiling to declare Exar kun the dark lord of the sith despite knowing that Vitiate is out there. This is also why Vitiate tried to seal Naga Sadows tomb and also why Sadows spirit trying to destroy one of his infitrators that Vitiate sent to seal the tomb.

That’s why so much of Korriban in the game is studied and lived in, he’s trying to wash away the old Dark Side presence with the New. It’s also why you take part in many missions on Yavin 4 during the game too

Thats why in echoes of oblivion all sith and all jedi teamed against him. His plan was to consume the star wars galaxy and reach other worlds and experience life in all of them. His motivation was more sinister than the sith code itself.

Darth Vitate is my absolute favorite Sith, even surpassing that of sidious. Vitiate's empire and the way he ruled is in some ways better then that of the galactic empire in terms of lasting almost 1500 yrs and being able to defeat the republic with little to no trouble in the first great galactic war and my opinion is my absolute favorite empire faction with Revans sith empire coming in close second.

I'd just like to point out that Vitiate's/Valkorian's/Tenebrae's death proved how much of a legend he was. The man caused SO much chaos and destruction that the Force it's self (dark and light side) willed him out of existence and turned his spirit into dust rather than let him rejoin the Force in any capacity. This guy literally declared war on the entire universe and ALMOST won. God! Damn! Awesome!

Vitiate was the most influential Emperor of all time, i mean we had Marka Ragnos and Naga Sadow, but only Vitiate got to stay in power for more than 1300+ years, while mentioning those two is good to remember that Marka Ragnos himself, while still alive "blessed" Vitiate and recognized his potential way before anyone. I wonder if any other sith tried that "world eating" technique he used on Nathema and later on Ziost to gain so much power.

The ritual he used was to feed on the deaths similar to how he was able to do on ziost. Speaking of ziost, what happened there was: once he was able to achieve enough deaths in a short amount of time, a tear in the force was created. Using a ritual he used to tear to unleash a death wave across the planet and once again fed on the deaths, absorbing everything inside himself giving him official "god" status.

Well they were never actually meant to conquer the galaxy. The emperor wanted more death so he can run his ritual on a galactic scale and never die so he could rule his utopian zakuul empire forever. He never cared about the sith, he just pretended to be one to get them to do what he wanted, zakuul was always his main focus. Both the treaty of Curoscant and the whole outlander thing only happened because of his children. He decided on the treaty because they were born and he wanted to concentrate on them, and he did the whole outlander thing because all his children disappointed him and he knew they would eventually ruin everything ... which they did. He decided to move on from being emperor and wanted to become a dashing hero who was the leader of the alliance/zakuul empire.

The lore is still being expanding on. The next expansion for swtor is called Legacy of the Sith, so one can imagine what that will be like. Hopefully a revitalization of the true Sith as the war between the empire and republic continues.

Pockets of Pius Dea remnants that survived across the galaxy after The Battle of Ulqine via miracles and clever escape vectoring could be relocated and serve as the backbone for the Cult to gain enough numbers to actually pose a threat to the weakened Republic and equally drained Sith Empire. Arcane force magics, religious fanaticism, and gruesome warfare tactics could make them an extremely dangerous enemy to both Jedi and Sith. What do you think about this kind of expansion to the game? And if this "ain't it" what would *you* personally like to see for a new expansion story?

As we latrer discover in the Enternal Throne story line, Vitatie never wanted to truly defeat the Republic. He just wanted as much death so he could feed on it in oreder to gain immortality. So naturally he would never want the Sith Empire to defeat the Republic or conquer the galaxy. Also you learn in the Old Republic online that he has been silent for a long time and that none of the Dark Council has actually spoken to him in like a hundred years if not longer.

It's crazy to think that despite the old republic being no longer cannon (well, the game "The Old Republic" is no longer cannon, because of one line in the clone wars the old republic was spared from being purely legends material, fun fact) there is still more story coming out for it. She's a lot like Valkoryon. Not the fear driven Tenebrea but like what he would be with a "decent" upbringing. You can superpose most of Lana's dialog (philosophy) with Valkoryon. If they wanted to bring him back a fourth? time, I think Lana turning out as one of it's incarnation but without his memories would be the best way. Also, as stated by Lucas, the original trilogy was about redemption. Redeeming Valkoryon through Lana would make for a good ending. A lot of Lana's arc is about trust and she is adamant about it. That's something Tenebrea never experienced. Anyway, sorry for the text that has little to do with your comment, I'm doing a third playthrough noting every dialog and comparing their actions to see if my theory could hold up.

On the Viatiate vs Sidious debate, there's a big difference between knowledge and wisdom. Vitiate ruled for over a millennium, Sidious ruled for 25 years (35 generously), Vitiate was/is immortal, Sidious wanted to be immortal so very badly. More powerful, Sidious was, but also more foolish, less educated, and only good for causing death whereas Vitiate built, he grew things, and provided plenty to his citizens. Vitiate also never went into debt.. Anakin was more powerful than Obi-wan, but look at how that worked out on Mustafar. Vitiate has eons of experience whereas Sidious has never truly been challenged by another Sith, let alone one that knows each of his tricks and has counters for them.

Vitiate still stomps Sidious when it comes to raw power. I mean, Vitiate took over his homeworld by the age of ten and a century later, drained the life force of the planet (during that century he ruled his planet and withdrew from the Sith and the wider galaxy) All of this without a single minute of training. I mean he designed a ritual that would have him completely drain the life force of the galaxy, something Sidious couldn’t even dream of.

Thanks for mentioning the Light Sith! I know in a previous video you'd given a flat "NO" to whether one could be a good Sith, so I was afraid you were going to pretend the Light Sith of SWTOR didn't exist. They were certainly a small minority, and a world apart from anything Vitiate, Bane, or Palpatine would ever have approved of, and had to constantly defend themselves against exposure. That said, a strong argument can be made that they ARE actually following the Sith Code in their own way, as the Sith Code allows a lot more room for interpretation than the Jedi one. Of course no one has said who the "canon Outlander" is, as we know who the canon Revan and Exile are...but I have always felt it actually makes the most sense for a Light-Sided Inquisitor to have been the Outlander. A Light Inquisitor has governing experience, a special knowledge of Force ghosts to give them an edge against Vitiate...AND the ability to command respect among both Empire and Republic forces that, quite frankly, I don't think even a Jedi could manage. I doubt anyone would have the balls to make that canon but I think it actually makes a tremendous amount of sense when you think about it.

Agreed, It makes sense to have that be the case because the inquisitor would be most adept in both light and dark side techniques as they'd be more practical and see power coming from all sources which is why they allow nonhumans in their crew. Having someone who can bring people together seeing reason to fight a common enemy.

The Light Siders among the Sith were a maligned minority who had to conceal their nature... Keleth Ur was one such Sith who ran afoul of Vitiate for that and got sealed in a chamber along with recordings of his Light Side teachings. I could imagine that once the Sith Warrior that would become the Emperor's/Empire's Wrath took Jaesa Willsaam as an apprentice, it would have become even more difficult for the Light Siders amongst the Sith to hide, as her innate talent for Force Empathy allowed her to see the true nature of people far more deeply than anyone else and upon becoming a Sith she took up a hobby of hunting these Light Siders down and killing them all.

Yes and no. Their storylines are all canon up to a point. But what is not known is which of them became the outlander. All we know is something happened to all of them that caused them to have to abandon their crew. 1 continued on to greater things the rest disappeared or died. Thou in all honesty I think they all live and they just joined the alliance later on down the road because why would they not. So in a sense it comes down to who is the outlander and the fallowers

(All classes can "become" the outlander - as companions (original class story) "join" up with the new outlander (although not all of them are available- i.e. Ashara only will rejoin the Inquisitioner, Nadia will only rejoin the consular). I have head-canon-d what happens to each of the other classes when whichever of my characters becomes the outlander. 1. The smuggler goes off into Hutt Space and starts a lucrative spice trade, and stays underground during the war vs Zakuul. 2. The agent, vowing never to have her mind controlled again, goes off to the world that the Killiks later inhabit in "legends" Nest trilogy and raises little Fingerlings with Vector. (he doesn't "return" except for the agent in the Outlander story). The male agent? Again goes off with Vector but finds a female joiner to raise little fingerlings with.. 3. The trooper dies heroically "for the republic" in battle with the forces of Zakuul. 4. The Jedi consular goes off to the area of space controlled by the Hapans and marries the heir to the throne (works for either gender) 5. The Jedi knight crash lands into somewhere in the unknown regions that is not controlled by Zakuul, that doesn't have interstellar travel or communication, and forms a new Jedi order there. 6. The Sith Warrior crash lands into somewhere in the unknown regions that is not controlled by Zakuul, that doesn't have interstellar travel or communication, and forms a new Sith order there. 7. The Bounty Hunter goes to the homeworld of Mandalore and tries to rebuild the planet that was destroyed by Revan 8. Darth Nox or Darth Occulus go to some undiscovered planet and try to rebuild their power, hidden from view much like Vitiate was. Darth Imperious dies heroically "for the empire" in battle with the forces of Zakuul during their take-over.

Vitiate stomps Sidious when it comes to raw power. I mean, Vitiate took over his homeworld by the age of ten and a century later, drained the life force of the planet (during that century he ruled his planet and withdrew from the Sith and the wider galaxy) All of this without a single minute of training. If I remember correctly at the age of 10 valkorion like to kill and torture people for fun or something including his father. After being recognized as a disciple by Marka Ragnos, he was given the authority to rule over nathema and only after many years or maybe a century, he then perform the ritual of nathema using thousands of siths as a sacrifice. So not exactly when he was 10 years old. In other topic, most of vitiate's force feats is passive power so not very effective to be used in a close range combats, best option he has during duel is force lightning. Whereas palpatine is excelled at sabers and force lightning as well, giving better chances to win any close duel. Moreover with his force storm that is very uncommon even for siths. it once mentioned to be hard to maintained and needs proper handle by many sensitive force users, but sidious can tame it by himself. You should check comicvine debate forum valkorion vs sidious. Many people agrees that DE sidious has more impressive feats than valkorion, but in some cases valkorion is still more powerful than the prequel version of sidious.

Seriously though, Vitiate is so underrated in the Star Wars Universe that it’s stupid. This mf literally ruled longer than any other Sith, achieved immortality, and has a load of the most powerful Dark Side feats. People that dislike him only complain about how he is somewhat of a carbon copy of Palpatine, which is understandable but that’s the only reason I can find. Don’t get me wrong, I still acknowledge that Palpatine is the most powerful Sith. To me, Vitiate was the embodiment of the Dark Side’s unlimited raw power. Palpatine was the embodiment of the ultimate deception, trickery, and nature of the Dark Side.

Well, vitiate/valkorion never really cared for ruling, he just wanted to live as long as possible and experience everything there was about life. If he really just wanted to rule, he would've easily finished the republic off instead of forcing them to sign the treaty of Curoscant. It turns out the main reason he did that was because his children were born and he needed to concentrate on them, I guess his project became trying to be a father. After his children grew up and disappointed him, he decided he wanted to try being a dashing hero and setup the whole outlander thing. Many lives that one wanted to live.

well if you notice the story of the game. Much of the resources of the empire and the republic are being destoryed used up or becoming obsolete. The more super weapons are use and the more resources are lost. This is how the sith slowly get wiped out. ON a galactic stage anyways. The republic however is not in good shape eaither. They dont really recover. The dark ages begin and the Republic is only a small faction in space. Who says this stops? By the time darth banes time comes around The republic only has 1 fleet. 1... lead by Jedi generals who like revan said f you to the other jedi. I dont think the empire actually ever fell. I think they just realized they were becoming too much like the republic and the fighting was not helping much at this point and were too small to really challenge the galaxy. But this is fine cause so was the republic. IT takes the republic over 1000 years to become powerful again. Thats a LONG time. When you become your enemy you start noticing similarity's more often then you like and you both start saying maybe peace is better. The empire never truly fell it just stop being IMPERIAL. in war you win by a number of different ways but the main objective to win a war is make sure the other side can not fight back anymore. Now think HOW many ways you can actually achieve that. Yea ... War is very complicated and can be won in so many different ways but the outcome is the same. Thats why we like war.

Vitiate was already immortal, he just wanted to make the really powerful body he was in live forever. I'm not so full of myself to think the idea came from me, but at around the same time I started writing stories and roleplaying a character I named Darth Obscurity, who's spirit could leap from body to body, charring non force sensitives to a crisp after just a few days of not being able to handle his immense power, searching for a Jedi or Sith who's connection to the force could rival his own and handle channeling his force energies...... Legends writers started writing about how Sidious was trying to clone himself and transfer his essence. I never read even _one_ legends book before I came up with the character, before anyone says anything. I'll admit it's possible I heard someone talk about it, but I'm fairly certain I took the idea from another book/sci fi/fantasy show that I read/watched at one time or another. I ran out of steam after finishing a story about him awakening in Skywalkers time and learning that the Emperor had been cloning himself and set out to retrieve the preserved corpse of his original body from thousands of years previous. An original sith body.

But to be fair to the sith, they didn't just pursue the dark side of the force, unlike the jedi they were allowed to study the light as well, in fact most of the greatest sith were former jedi who knew everything about the light. They just chose not to use it because it required peace, calm, tranquility which made sith weaker since they get their power from their passions. There was never a sith who used the light side who didn't become weaker except revan ... although he technically wasn't a sith at the time. the Jedi were the opposite, when they used the dark side they became stronger, the most famous example of course was windu. That is why they forbade it, the easy power up was always too tempting and jedi who weren't as strong willed as windu would easily fall to the dark side once they got a taste for it. Revan was truly amazing. He was able to use the full power of the dark side without falling to it, and he was able to use the full power of the light side without weakening himself.

Because by the time of the OT "purebred" Sith had long since died out, due to intermarriage with Humans and the Republic genocide of the Sith Species. To be Sith was either a species or a religion (at times both). So a Sith may desire to defend his/her people in a war in which the Republic first tried to genocide the Sith without necessarily being dark-side as the tenets of the Sith code teach. Even the Sith Code can be interpreted in less violent terms for those who study it. In the game, one of my Sith follows the teachings of Ka'leth Ur (the ghost in the Dromund Kaas Temple). (I do play all classes with all alignments on multiple servers).

The High Republic is set 200 years before The Phantom Menace. But by my understanding the whole era known as the 'High Republic' began after the Ruusan Reformation at the end of the New Sith Wars 1000 years before.

Honestly, I think KOTFE/KOTEE makes more sense and is better told from the perspective of the Sith Empire. An empire created by a god and led to the brink of galactic domination, only to be abandoned and betrayed by that very god and left to redefine itself and what it means to be Sith.

Yes, and if you truly accept the idea of the Light Sith, it was also a moment when the Sith Order had a faint glimmer of hope to become something greater than even the Jedi. Imagine, Light-Siders who embraced their emotions and accepted themselves as fully fleshed-out beings with both Light and Dark in them. All of the future schisms thanks to the extreme ideologies of the Jedi and the traditionalist Sith might have fallen away forever in the face of that. But sadly, extremism (on both sides) ruled the day. Quite a metaphor for our own time, where we have become so horribly polarized that those of us who are "Light Sith" of our time are in danger of being snuffed out as heretics by both the right and the left.

@@nerysghemor5781 Darth Malgus wanted to open up the government, military, and Sith to aliens, and Darth Marr was willing to make peace with the Jedi and be reasonable for the sake of, not just the Empire, but the whole galaxy. Sadly, they were both cast down from power for their "treachery to the Emperor", when they knew what the Empire and Sith needed to survive and thrive, unlike all the other Darths.

My journey through KOTFE/KOTET through my Sith Warrior was so amazing since he had a similar Vader/Palpatine dynamic with Valkorian.
