This is also super helpful for teaching how to have a proper bow hold for students!

I was a kid who said “Why do I have to hold it the hard correct way and I restored to the incorrect easy way” and it was a sucess but I am glad that my teacher corrected me and fixed that issue because years later ; my reporite required it

Totally. What works quickly doesn’t always work for the more advanced rep.

Great, simply great! I love your videos. Do you advise any difference in efficient bow hold for a viola player? There’s very little information about it on KZbin.

Thanks Raphael! And I don’t think there’s any significant difference in the viola bow hold. The hand and fingers do have to be even more loose to engage the thicker strings but the principles are the same. I should also say that I’ve played the viola infrequently but I think dedicated violists would agree.

Thinking about buying a violin. So I just watched a bunch of videos for the past week to know more about violins and playing violin. Any suggestions, as a rookie, are appreciated.

Yeah this question makes me think that I should perhaps make a video on the subject. There’s lots I could talk about. In a comment l, I’ll just say this. Violin is a more challenging instrument than most and so I would only dive in if I knew I was able to make a commitment to it. It’s hard to make meaningful progress and sound good with much less than 30-45 min a day and then more as you get more advanced. There’s just a lot of things going on at the same time that goes into making a decent sound. If you’re up for it though, it can be very rewarding. If not, piano and guitar will yield more immediate results with less time. 👍

@@priceviolinacademy I see. I'm just obsessed with violins. I don't exactly know if I can put a lot of time into it. But I will try my best. And thanks for the reply.
