It's much easier to leave the original stitch in while you sew in the new stitch then pluck the old one out. Then you don't need to pin it.

Exactly what I was looking for! But didn't you say you added some elastic at the very end? I couldn't really see that. If you could add a bit more detail. Thanks. I have some AMAZING hot pink coduroy guy-pants that need this, and a little more here and there of discrete, hidden elastic that needs insertion. Very subtle. One's tectonic plates shift over time. (One needs an industrial sewing machine for thick corduroy. I will work that out somehow.) Of all the videos of this, your's is THE BEST! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

okay....at 1:59.....what did you do to the waist band to get two separate pieces???? most waist bands are sowed together. Did you cut it????

Men's waistbands on dress pants always have two pieces two seamed up the back.

okay....I'm trying to save some money from my tailor charging me 20 bucks per pants to take in the waist. Now....you made it very simple in understanding how to open the waist band and the seam but....then ya lost me. You didn't show any measurements....how much you cut or took in. It just looked like you put the waist band back together without showing any alterations.... 😕

He did not alter the waist. He unplucked the bit that covers under the waist and extended it
