When animating for a Flash game, be sure to go easy on the effects (filters, blending modes, extra movie clips, etc.). That stuff can lag the game a lot.

i was a 2d animation. using adobe flash. but i dont know that there are kinds of properties that i dont know how to use. (especially the blur).instead i used gradients. hahaha.. that was awesome

When I was in 3rd grade I would draw monster from the Ratchet & Clank games but with my own twist!! I stopped drawling in 5th grade to join the soccer team :( I played Soccer all throughout Highschool and even a little in College. After all these years I wish I never game up drawling, thank heavens I found Jazza's channel (God bless his soul) the man is teaching/showing us all how to drawl like professionals for free. Really the stuff he shows us could very well be sold in a how to book for hundreds of bucks or so! We all should say thank you!

16:03 I'm confused about the movie clip within a movie clip thing. Whenever I try to do what you're doing, I can only add glow to the first frame of the fire animation.

When you make something a symbol it gets its own timeline, by double-clicking on the object you made a symbol it should show you this timeline and do what he said to that to edit all the frames, also i think this only works for the movie clip symbol as it works differently to a graphic symbol. This is my best guess at what is wrong however im not that good at animating yet.

I'm replying to my own comment to help those who had the same problem. The reason the boxes are greyed out is because it's a HTML5 file rather than a Action Script 3.0. Convert it to Action Script 3.0 under the commands button.

Draw with Jazza separate to the effect but effected by the effect.... An I say, that effect is effectively affecting the effect that is in that effect with the effect you created on that effect.... Hahhahaha this is the best tutorial so far Jazza!. Thanks.
