I've always been the quiet kid at school and this year (my Senior year) I decided to do something before I regret it. There's this girl, we'll call her Jenny and a buddy that I met this year, we're going to name him John. So Jenny is a girl that I met this year through extracurricular activities and I have her in my lit class. So John and I have been friends for close to 2 months (I met him through my Physics class and we know each other through a club at school too) and I've been friends with her close to 2 months. Okay, now with my question, I've recently been getting a feel for Jenny and you know, I think she's really pretty and has a great personality and is just downright awesome. John is a cool dude but he was a lot quicker than I was. He asked her to Homecoming today and I at first wasn't planning on asking her since it was too soon and too fast (I think) so I guess I lost in a way. I know friendships to expand and I think John and me will be good friends by say, in the next 3 months or so and same will apply to Jenny. So with all of that in mind, I start feeling awful. I've never been a very social guy and often am anxious talking to people but I honestly want to change. And this is where my confusion actually comes, after a homecoming, are they "dating" or is that just dependent on where they take it? Also, say they don't take it any further besides a homecoming and I ask her out to prom, would the relationship between me and John suddenly become awkward? Thanks bro, I just think she's great, I know most guys will be like, DAMN THOSE CURVES DOE or something like that but I feel like I'm more of a guy looking for pure amazing, you know?
