I was starting to say in my last comment. I have been in the hair industry for over 30 yrs. My mother and father both actively held their license, with constant learning. To keep up with our ever changing industry for a total of over 65yrs. My father held a license as a Master Barber license also. Then there was my grandma who had her own salon. Grandma held her license for over 40 yrs. so let me get this out there to all your viewers. “This lady knows her stuff! No matter even if you are a cosmetologist or a diy lady. Listen to her and she will save your bacon!!!”

I love how your main concern is the health of her hair!! So many many times I've been to a black hair stylist and they leave relaxer in your hair for ridiculous time frames. Then they burn, I mean singe the hair, so its stick straight. It's such a relief to see actual concern for hair instead of just wanting the style to appear nice. It's obvious you are well trained and talented👍🏾

People only do what you allow them to do. You can't blame them for you not speaking up. If you feel like your relaxer is being left on too long then say something. If you dont want your hair bone straight then tell them. It sounds like you really didn't want straight hair in the first place. I know this is an old comment but the comparison you made just triggered me. These are 2 different things and hair types.

I just wanna say how grateful I am for you because I colored my hair dark BLUE and instantly hated it. Was scared to do another bleach because I tried to put box dye over it to get rid of it but I tried this bleach wash method and it lifted ALL the blue out immediately and I’m so happy. Gonna wait another week to do another bleach wash and then go about toning and coloring again
@imnotgonnasay36125 жыл бұрын
Uggh! Thank you, Brittney for explaining why dark-haired clients shouldn't expect their hair to turn blonde in one sitting. Have seen many fellow stylists turn their client's hair blonde in one shot and the hair looks healthy and beautiful when leaving the salon. But when the client washes their hair for the first time and and it has that mucky, mushy feeling, OHHH boy. Not a good situation. The stylist who can say NO to their client has the most integrity. I've actually had to tell a client to stop coloring her hair red-violet because it made her look like a penis. Not even kidding...
@valeriealvarez75082 жыл бұрын
I do believe it’s possible using the proper technique because it happened to me! My hair was naturally dark brown almost black. In just 2 bleaching sessions (all done in 1 day) my hair was blonde! Not platinum but a nice golden even blonde and my hair was not mushy feeling. Also the thing about the penis, now that’s just wrong lol 😂

I went to a professional salon for highlights. Since I had color on my hair, she said that she needed to "lift" the processed color. I don't remember my sylist doing this method of washing, but "lifting" the color while I was in the chair. I asked her how long I had to sit there for this and she told me an hour. Then she washed it out and then put in highlights. Within months, I had breakage. Had I known this process of using bleach to lift the color (I should have asked beforehand) I never would have done it. But I never heard of leaving bleach on for that long either. I had never had breakage like this in my life before and it was a nightmare. My sides around my ears are still so thinned out and this has really affected me greatly. I do notice I have short strands popping up, so I am hoping that is new growth. I am doing all that I know to do to get healthy hair - no product, no heat, no dye, oil the ends, shower filter, no sulfates - everything! Thank you for posting this video, as I am never doing anything to f*ck up my hair again. I hope I can get it to be healthy :(

I'm curious, I always done bleach caps using conditioner instead of shampoo as the diluting medium, and they've always worked well for me. I know conditioner doesn't open the hair shaft the way clarifying shampoo does but since this whole method is about going low and slow I always found that conditioner worked to keep the hair soft and healthy during the process anyway.
