Your teaching is absolutely whats needed to keep people in golf. All this technical talk, in my mind, as counter productive. Not many people are going to be drawn to the game if they are told they need a launch monitor, 4 wedges, and balls for every weather condition. If you know how far you hit your 8, 9, and wedge, you can play a very decent game. Enjoy your video’s…..

Hi Julian I have made a return to Easiest Golf Swing after a few months experimenting with 3 or 4 other well documented swings. Being an oldie my sights are not too high. However upon my return to ERGS I am again wanting to improve my golf scores again.I started by watching your videos and Brian,s videos. So pleased I did as things are looking up again.The last two videos on breaking 90 have given me a better state of mind and a more liberal attitude to the way holes should be played. I must thank you Julian as I am achieving something I never had before when playing and that is an inner confidence that my scores will now only get better especially if I evaluate shots and putts before playing them.I will let you know if I do achieve my goals.Thank You.

Thank you for sharing this with me Bob, I really appreciate your honesty, we have had quite a few people go on the same journey as yourself only to return as they realise that get confused and worse still their body starts to hurt. Hello Julian. Long time not talk to you. I’ve used this method before my shoulder nerve injury. My last full round before injury was a 83. I will teach my daughter who is 7 this method. She has now got a scholarship from golf Australia and going great with her instructors Julian. Loves golf and has a great swing. This could help her lower her scores

@@JulianMellor Well, here we are, back from the course. That did not work for each and every hole, and I know why : I still hit very bad shots too often, even with my favorite clubs (7w and 8i), I have a very bad tendency to top the ball... But, yes it is definitely better, I've made 1 par, 10 bogeys, 5 double, and 2 hole at +3. So 94 on a par 68 course (it's a small 9 holes). That's one of my best results, I don't often play under 100. And I really understand how much having a ball on the fairway in a good place is more important than have if further in a bad one. Especially when you hit it badly when the lie is not good, ruff is not my cup of tea. So thank you for your very good advice, I really fell that 90 is a goal I can think of, and may be less.

Kind words from Martin who came on a one day course Hi Julian Thanks for your kind and encouraging response. I played my first competition following your tuition, it was a 4 ball b/b which contained lots of very good shots from myself and 2 two's. I received a lot of praise from my fellow golfers who had seen a major improvement all around and seen a happier and de-stressed player. I played under my handicap and believe I can get it back down now with my newfound skills. Everyone has heard how I achieved this change and I have recommended to a few that they consider a course. My only regret is that I left it so long to come along after accepting I needed help. I will keep in touch and may ask for advice if things break down, but thank you for making the game simple and enjoyable again. Kind regards Martin Wills

Julian: extremely helpful, thank you. Trying too hard to get par on every hole (totally unrealistic for many of us) ends up putting pressure on yourself and actually makes things worse. But simply attempting to play bogey golf immediately makes you relax and removes tension/pressure which makes for easier swings and better outcomes.

a great little series. I am moving along the journey to an "easy" swing, however the demons often take over, esp when i don't complete a full turn, weight shift etc, the result is an almighty heave in an effort to make some form of contact. However i am getting there with the danse du golf plus practise swings down the grip aiming for a swish, no contact with the ground. Undoing 30+ years of coiling & tension is not "easy", but enjoying golf & practise far more. Thanks rod

Had to share this lovely Email from Joseph Hi Julian, I have watched all of your KZbin videos and recently I bought the 3 Videos to break 90. I went out today and played 9 holes using your methods and it was wonderful. 2nd hole Par 4 dog-leg right and you have to drive it about 250 or more to get a clean shot at the green as there is a tree in the way. I used a 6 Iron and played to a spot on the fairway that has an opening behind that tree and then hit a 5 Iron close to the green, chip up + 2 putt for a Bogie! On two other holes I teed up either far left or far right to avoid trouble and a line that suited my eye and it led to a Par and a bogie. Shot a 43 from the senior Tees as I am 73 now and it was a wonderful experience. Thanks for all you help. Joe Reeves, Debary, FL

From Mika who came for a two day course from Finland Dear Jo and Julian, thanks for your email. All well here in Finland (how else, we are the happiest country in the world, just to remind you 😀), hope with you, too. And the return trip worked out as planned, no problems but only a minor delay with the final flight from FRA to HEL. And likewise, it was a great pleasure to meet both of you as well as Patricia and Jeff there last week. You are such a lovely company and it couldn't just have been any better. We were so lucky to get such a high-level private coaching! My wife registered for a ladies golf training at our local club and the group started their season yesterday, they will meet ever Monday evening throughout the season. Thus, I used the opportunity to go and practise my new skills, and guess what? I hit so nice shots one after another that couldn't really believe it. Julian, even with my driver I could hit to where I was aiming, amazing 😊. Just remembered the basic principles and so simple it was... Then also spent some time in a bunker but it just got boring since it was too easy to get the balls landing where I wanted them to land 😂. My wife told me later than the husband of one of her friends had told her that Harri (a local pro) seems to be practicing over there in a bunker. My wife had just answered to him that no, that is my husband 😂. Finally, I went to test some chipping, and from different lies and distances it just simply worked... Relaxed... I did not take any video yesterday but next time I will. I will then send a copy to Julian and you can check if all is fine. But if it is going to be like yesterday, I don't think there's too much wrong... 😎 Following all the excellent advise from Julian, I guess I just remembered to follow it all. At least it was so easy and after 90 minutes my body was just feeling great, no pain nothing, not even stiffness this morning. However, I must disappoint you: most of the time I wasn't thinking anything at all but just having fun and enjoying golf, also doing those small exersices like hitting some shots when dancing from one side to another etc. 😀 Let's see when I'll have a chance to go to play a round, it will be fun! ☀️ Let's keep in touch, thank you once more so much for your kindness and hospitality during our visit there! All the best, kind regards Mika

This (How to Break 90 Series) is a bit of an epiphany Julian. I've only recently started viewing the the Easiest Swing videos and I am starting to try it out. As a high handicapper (28) breaking 90 is a bit of a pipe dream but I can use it to try to break 100 and work my way down. Many thanks

Great little series and not being a bomber it's how I have to play golf. The only thing I will suggest is that to shoot 90 like that your putting has to be bang on and whilst that isn't impossible, for the average guy trying to shoot 90 you have to try and take advantage where you can. That par 3 over the water is reachable for anyone shooting between 90 and 100 so take enough club to clear both hazards and if you hit it flush you'll be on the green. If you can make par on a couple of the easier holes then you allow yourself a few extra putts here and there. Maybe I just need to spend more time on the putting green though 😂😂
@JulianMellor
@JulianMellor 5 жыл бұрын
thanks for your comment Robert, the problem with that hole is its surrounded by bunkers even over the back, to the right are trees and to the left bunker and big trees, the green slopes back to front making the shot from over the back more difficult, thats why i played for short, leaving the easier chip shot. Putting is so important thats for sure, but putting with freedom of mind is even more important

Hi Julian, thanks for this series of videos. Today I played using the strategy you explained in this series and had a relatively stress free round. Only 3 putted once and made up for it with a couple of one putts and holing out from a bunker. I was playing a familiar course - but not my usual course - had 38 stableford points and finished in =3 place in the daily competition. Even though I didn't break 90, I was very pleased with the result. Thanks for explaining and demonstrating such a simple strategy. Cheers, Rod

Hi Julian, what a fabulous set of 3 videos ! I have been watching you for about a year and these are your best yet. I have only been playing for less than a year and have never broken 90, perhaps with your plan I might. I’m too inconsistent with striking the ball though. I’d like you to repeat the videos with a 34 handicap like me taking the shots and let’s see what reality throws up. Thanks, Steve, Yorkshire

Julian, I am 77 years old and have never been below 11 handicap. I have missed an enormous amount of golf over the last year and have had to resort to golf range practice in the main. However I have followed the system of you and Brian and been very pleased with the results.Played last week for the first time for ages with my now handicap of 26 (boo hoo) and shot37 points.Have just watched you series of 3 videos on breaking 90 and found them excellent. They will certainly improve my golf mentality and I expect very soon to play to or beat 90.The videos were excellent not only the method of playing each hole but the mental attitude needed to follow this through.Thank you very much for this. Just one point- would it be possible for you to do a video on how to accomplish slight draws and fades. Most other videos on this subject seem to focus on massive fades and draws which do not interest me at all.Hope you can oblige.

However my playing companions were not only engrossed in my explanation of why I am swinging so well but also in the "relaxed" way I am talking now especially when telling them what I have watched in your videos etc. Relaxation is always something I have found it hard to attain in the past but they are right- I really do have a very relaxed attitude in everything I say and do.Weird!!!!.Thank You.

Hey Julian, still practicing the dance every day and I now have a beautiful swing but ball goes nowhere. I bought a swingrite five days ago and immediately found the problem also why I hit a short fade I never released the club. For five days I have practiced with swing rite and now it releases where it is supposed to even on 6. I played today and took swing rite and used it five or six times before every drive and the distance I gained was truly amazing talking 40-50 yards. I shot 79 and if I putted better would have been 74. Can’t say enough about your group and how much joy golf is again. Thanks and hope some day when you are in America I will get to meet you, Gil

At the hole over the water wouldn’t a 7 iron swung the same have created a safer option being either long or partial miss hit - on the green. Most courses position bunkers in-front of or at either side of the greens. Being long makes for simpler chip shots.
@JulianMellor
@JulianMellor 5 жыл бұрын
i would agree normally Paul, but on that hole there are bunkers everywhere even over the back, the green runs from back to front making the chip shot much more difficult if you go over the green

Brilliant advice, I should have been doing tho years ago..only issue is, everyone wants to smash the driver and make birdies.. will leave that to the pros.

Thanks for this unique approach of a golf lesson (instead of just standing on the driving range and wacking the ball). I've bought into the 'easiest swing approach' but more applying it on the golf course would be appreciated.

On the SW shot over the bunker, did you use a 56 degree club? Was that a tight lie?

After about 1 1/2 yrs of follow Julian's easiest swing I am hitting ball better, but out of know where start hitting behind the ball ( fat shots) . Been told I,am moving off the ball in back swing ,because thier is so much movement in this method need help

Hi Ray, remember the first 2 principles are turn & Weight shift, your weight will be staying on your right foot for too long through impact ( if you’re right handed ) , remember to follow the flight of the ball and don’t keep your head your down. 😀

Looks a nice course. The one I play on is nowhere near what u r playing off. I would say more like short dry fairways. Any Ideas for playing off dirt lies, bare patches.

Relax , relax, relax is key, and practise off these lies , don’t play a club that you won’t be able to get in the air

Thanks, think this is a major topic that isn’t mentioned so much. Majority of time a lot of people just mention the loose arms, but I just noticed recently that when I relaxed the pecs (not that I have big pecs) the tops and sides of my shoulders relaxed as well. Many thanks for the reply and continued success👍🏌️⛳️
