I like the adjustable castor for different bottle or jar sizes. Thumbs up.

Good video. Reminds me of some kind of tutorial from 1974 you had to watch in high school shop class or on public television.

when i make mine i order brushless motors that can run non stop for long periods and put a small arbor on motor and add about a 3 inch pully on other shaft and use sweeper belts to run to cut down speed ,brushless motors wont make sparks like brushed motors can do .
@dementedbowine86813 жыл бұрын
how long did the motor last im thinking of making somethimg similar but those motors dont seem like they are any good for applications where they dont have lots of airflow and tend to overheat also was the motor new pr used

iv still been using it to this day bro. I added a fan next to the motor to move the heat away. Been working on couple prototypes over the years,will upload a third and better version when im finished

@@Zakamooza Can you tell me what is the best motor for such a hard work? My Fan motor overheats after an hour and I need to keep it working for days

Hi... what is the motor's speed while rotating? How many rotation per minute?
@nukegumbo7 жыл бұрын
great build but is the rpm's too high to make powered aluminum
@Zakamooza7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, this motor has 3 sets of speeds from slow to very fast , so i guess slow should work ?

where'd you gank the motor?

Hi bro this is great can this be used for lead powder (oxide)? Do u have any idea about using ball mill for lead powder?
@Zakamooza7 жыл бұрын
Hi , thank you! never heard of lead powder before until now ! What are you going to use lead powder for , if you dont mind me asking
@mohamedghames99747 жыл бұрын
Zakamooza hi ..sure i don't mind I am ganna use it for making the paste of the plates which inside lead acid batteries.
@Zakamooza7 жыл бұрын
sounds complicated , to be honest i dont think you will be able to get lead dust with this ball mill. But hey be my guest and try it ! I think maybe grinding would work better . Take a look at this kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXrPe2WEhsmkkLM

what media do you use for bp?
@Zakamooza6 жыл бұрын
14mm steel balls, and or lead slugs cast from drilling holes into wood with a 12mm drill bit
@kyrsp33dysolderpicture286 жыл бұрын
Real nice, youre not concerned about spark risks with steel media?
@Zakamooza6 жыл бұрын
good question , the jar is spinning at low speeds (rpm) it is not going to create any sparks. It would need some great force to project the ball in such a speed that it would strike against the metallic surface of the jar and then having enough friction that it would create a spark . ive been using it for a couple of years , and never had any spark issues , but of course, you don't Have To Take My Word For It ! for your safety use lead media , although i find that it contaminates the batch with microscopic lead powder, you can see for yourself by grinding sugar or kno3 with lead media, it is going to turn gray

thanks for the reply! really informative

have you watched the other version of the ball mill ? you can find it in my channel . Thanks for watching
@donaldbarnett80455 жыл бұрын
I knew that your rotation speed would be too high RPM for a ball mill before you started fan motors are just too high RPM for BM you must use pulley size to control speed should not be over 85 RPM. Use DC motor with controller (treadmill motor with the speed controller ) or a geared AC motor, slow with pulleys is another possibility.
@Zakamooza5 жыл бұрын
good point, but i use the low speed,the grinding media its lead, Its a heavy load trust me it , it rotates slow

i wonder if a smaller fan motor might be better? i like the simplicity of the design.
@Zakamooza7 жыл бұрын
smaller motor will not have enough torque to drive the shaft with all that weight , :) I have 2 more designs coming , will take a while
