i do think you can build muscle in a defict if you are getting enough protein. But it would have to be a very small one and a case of hitting bicep in areas that may be lacking

Warm up by doing a set or two of the exercise you're about to do, just use lighter weights. After a couple light weight warmup sets, load on the weight and shoot for 3 sets of 8-12 reps.

Like he mentioned, instead of causing the muscle extension, you’ll be harming your tendon instead. It’s similar to the same reason you shouldn’t lockout in certain exercises, stops being a stretch of the muscle and begins to be damage to tendons and joints.

Mistake 4 isn't entirely true, in terms of it's effectiveness. Generally speaking, sure, the bulk of bicep training should be done with arms by your side. With that said, the biceps do assist in shoulder flexion, so curling a little higher can and should be worked into a routine if you want to train the bicep in it's entirety. Could lead to gains that you've left on the table.

Let me ask you this on the calorie intake. Right now, I'm currently at about 500lbs. My short term goal is to reach 450 so I can have bariatric surgery. So I'm lifting lighter weights and more reps. But after I have the surgery I'll have about two months till I'll be able to start lifting again. My calorie intake will be limited to a small amount. I do plan on using supplements and such. But I'm also gonna be limited on how much I can spend. I'll have an abundance of fat that can be used to help with my muscles. But will the lower calorie limits hinder me much in growing muscle?
