@@danielhenderson762 Yeah, he rambled a lot, and I'm 8 min into the video and he hasn't really said what the person doing them should be feeling. Shrugs are a simple exercise, but there are nuances to every lift. Should my neck be stable? Is there a recommended foot position? Is this just an upward pull, or what about a squeeze at the top? There are lots of things he could have elaborated on.

I was criticized by some Millenials at my gym for doing heavy shrugs. Some kids were saying you never need to do shrugs if you deadlift or do heavy squats, etc. Meanwhile, I'm looking at his traps and mine were bigger than his in proportion to my frame. So that instantly told me what he said was nonsense. I continued to do shrugs to this day, and it's become one of my favorite exercises to do when I'm in the gym because it feels good to hit that CNS with some overload, and my traps have exploded in size over the years. It also has some carryover to hitting your upper back and neck as well.

Some isolation exercises for this important muscle would be great for those ones who have a pretty weak low back that is causing them pain like myself

This got me thinking. As a bodybuilding guy having a youtube ( not me ) channel. How many vids can you put up regarding "how to pump up" I mean. It´s not rocket science, but how can they keep putting up new vids of working out. Sooner or later they have to be the same. Furhtermore. Whats the use of doing the roll back thing when stating "Don´t do this" as it opens up for injuries. That´s like saying. Don´t jump in front of a train, it might kill you.
