Thanks bro!! I ran across this vid by faith I guess. I tried the movement you stated and even without weight I feel them firing. I’m used to doing them the way you illustrated most people do and even though I use up to 110’s I don’t get the pump I should. I will definitely be doing it this way. Thanks 👍🏾

I tried this technique today for the first time. Kind of needs getting used to coming from the perspective of hanging the arms perfectly straight and just shrugging straight up. I will know tomorrow how well this technique works after I wake. It kind of tells me how well it worked by the soreness and tightness the next morning. I know that sound crazy....
@SethFeroceOfficial
@SethFeroceOfficial 8 жыл бұрын
Harley Rider no bro that doesn't sound crazy. That is the best way to make a judgement call from my standpoint. Everything I do is based on personal feel. If it doesn't feel right or not working, and I have to be real with myself not just do because it is hard or don't like it, then I move on to something different. Don't lose that quality. I honestly believe that today so many people follow the norm because it's the norm. Not because they like it or because it works. That is one of the main reasons I started making these videos. Thank you for the comment and hope these vids help man! 💪

@dirtmcgirt01
@dirtmcgirt01 7 жыл бұрын
Hohmies Mcfly stick with rack pulls, farmers walks and start deadlifts if you're not already. If your not deadlifting learn how, start easy and do it right. Shrugs alone don't cut it for big traps. Train your neck with the neck flex or a standard head harness.

@dirtmcgirt01
@dirtmcgirt01 7 жыл бұрын
GForceIntel I have and it lead me to a lot of other channels that revolve around powerlifting and strong man. Alpha destiny learned that the power lifting movements and strong man movements make you strong and make you look strong. I take bits and pieces away from all these KZbin channels and apply to myself. You could get jacked from bench press, dead lift, overhead press, and squat alone. Take those 4 and it's variations and design your own routine based off it. Using assistance exercises that carryover to the 4 main lifts and focusing on getting strong at those will make a guy look like a brick shit house. When's the last time someone saw a power lifter or strongman competitor and said "gee, that guy looks like a pussy".

what do you guys think the weight in the rack pull should be to have decent traps?
@Hohmies86
@Hohmies86 6 жыл бұрын
yan kashyap well I just spent 8 months in federal prison and we had a weight pile there and I was able to do rack pulls and farmers walks, I worked up to doing it every other day and after a month and a half they grew and grew, other inmates thought I was stupid but soon saw I was not. Always upping the weight and murdering the traps every session. But no matter what if you don't take in lots of protein you will not grow. I became very in tune with my body and how different foods help. Sweet potatoes are gold for energy

This is a fantastic exercise. I've used this for a few years with a slight variation. It is the exact movement except the shoulders are moving in a "J" formation. At the top of the movement your chest should be out, delts squeezed back and up with the bent elbows. Just throwing it out there.

Seth, one thing that body builders dont do is tell people that they MUST do blood work evry three months when injecting anything. I LITERALLY saved a life bcuz i take test and i know the effects. I started talkung to newbie doing test and Dianobol, i asked him what doctor is monitoring this. He said no one why" i asked how long have you bern injecting, he said 8 months. I told him what happened to me High Hemo and im glad he took my advice. His hemo was at 20. nutz! Anyways he donated a lot of blood and it worked for him and now a doc monitors it. Can you warn your viewers? Especially 1st timers.

Wow, the elbows slightly bend trick is awesome. I actually never realized this and always did them straight armed. You can definitely feel a much MUCH greater trap contraction if you slightly bend your elbows at the top. This is because it turns out that the traps are not being fully contracted unless you get your elbows bent and behind your body. Try it! Do a straight arm shrug, then at the top push your elbows up and back. You can only get maybe a 10-20 degree backward angle with your upper arms, but man do your traps feel it! I am left wondering if doing this contracts more of the middle part of the traps and not just the upper parts, which is why you feel them more. But, who cares, more trap activation is good trap activation.

Enjoyed ur video. Makes sense. I too have had to alternate, or make my own way differ from videos and talk with others. I believe the elbow slight bend is the ticket! Isolates big time! I would also say(in my humble opinion and experience only) that heavy weights is not always the way. Get way more out of good solid high reps than sloppy heavy low reps. Most time when heavy the shoulders want to take over the work load. Excellent video and honesty. U da man!
