Your face is too vulnerable to being punched. When you posture your head up with your face. Leaning forward in in range. Wiping your opponent with your palms of your hands is just trouble waiting to happen for you.

Yeah it will. Almost anything that works against bigger opponents will work exponentially better against people your size or smaller

Hand fighting is just part of grappling. The video title might be a bit for the sake of garnering attention. Not talking shit, just saying.
@ashtangaxashtangapranayama85263 ай бұрын
@@Jordanthecool7 wrong, and as he says in the video the relative speed, movement and strength of different sized guys must be considered to determine the most sensible way to defend/ attack: high posture is a ridiculous orientation to have against a slightly smaller guy, with a bigger guy it makes so much sense. This is only the beginning, this is what being a smart analytical wrestler involves. Whats my opponents typical speed, explosiveness, foot positioning, entry, weight distribution, strength, set up library, takedown library, finish library, general wrestling knowledge, willpower and endurance, sensitivity to aggression and pain from crossfacing > forehead blast moves > hiking up their captured leg > top pressure > front facing head locks> it goes so deep but is so simple when you simply think about what makes each wrestler you see. So many wrestlers simply dont know more than 3 setups well, or 3 takedowns, or 3 finishes for the takedowns well. So many wrestlers simply wont wrestle from a level with their hips lower than yours, or apply as many fakes if any as often or crisply as you. So many wrestlers only have so many tendencies and that is an advantage to you, learn the tendencies of wrestlers of a certain weight first, then youll notice clusters of tendencies according to body type, then movement, then actual skills displayed and that is how you quickly determine which of your special seasonings to apply to each individual you see even and especially during a matchup, all intelligent combatants who dont want to risk losing think about these conditions to prevent getting taken down out of ignorance.

Hey Coach, Would you reccomend doing Wrestling or BJJ first for a high school student? Thanks
@WrestlingUniversity6 ай бұрын
Without a doubt, without hesitation, wrestling first. If you take wrestling seriously at your age - the base, intensity, and foundational movement you'll get from wrestling will be with you to a degree for the rest of your life. It's difficult for even a pro BJJ gym to match the intensity and pace of a high school wrestling room. After graduation, you have the rest of your life to do BJJ. Great question, now go sign up for wrestling lol
@DaDanielYT6 ай бұрын
@@WrestlingUniversity Thanks so much for the response. I really want to sign up for wrestling, and I today spent a while trying to find a wrestling clubs in my area, however I realised that there aren't really any wrestling schools here. No schools in my area have wrestling clubs. I still want to train Wrestling first, BJJ later and become strong, quick, and explosive. What should I do now?
@WrestlingUniversity6 ай бұрын
@@DaDanielYT Honestly, watch my videos and find someone to drill the techniques with. If you can't find an in-person school, learning online is the next best thing. Don't give up your search though, there may be a wrestler in your community and you just haven't discovered him yet. Start asking around, you'd be surprised who's out there. What part of the world do you live in?

Its kinda funny how in wrestling it's ok to snap your training partner down pretty hard with a collar tie, but in bjj, doing that in practice feels kinda like a dick move. Unless you already have "an understanding" with specific training partner.
@jellophant97166 ай бұрын
Yeah it's kind of a problem. You get taught some wrestling but no one says "hey if the other guy is bigger you have to play aggressively, because otherwise nothing you do will work"
@WrestlingUniversity6 ай бұрын
I had this exact problem my very first bjj practice. When we went live I just started snapping people to front head-locks. I was being a little aggressive and my coach pulled me aside and told me to chill out lol just not in every bjj gyms culture. But it's definitely in wrestling culture
@johnhummel67185 ай бұрын
This only works with an inexperienced big guy. Anyone with any mixed martial arts experience would never be that passive. BJJ only works on the street with people who have no experience. You start playing those touchy games with an experienced wrestler you wont last long and if its a street fight you are going to eat knuckles, albows, knees and feet. This is a demonstration of a BJJ match against a larger less experienced opponent. This wont work against a larger BJJ opponent with wrestling experience unless you have the same experience and are much better than they are. There is a reason there are weight classes in wrestling and mixed martial arts as well as in kick boxing and boxing. BJJ is a sport with rules of what you can and cannot do. Yes it has self defense usable techniques but a street fight has no rules. and yes that makes a very large difference.
@thepapschmearmd5 ай бұрын
Literally nothing in this video talks about using this in a street fight. The point about weight classes is a good one, but the street fighting stuff is not relevant to the video.

@thepapschmearmd what's the name of the video? How to bully a big guy? Sure doesn't sound like any sport competition I've ever heard of. People see this stuff and think ill learn that and able to bully a big guy. Sure give it a try and see what happens against experience. Good luck. Hope you like bruises.
@johnhummel67183 ай бұрын
@@jellophant9716 doing nothing starts with don't think size and experience doesn't matter. BJJ is a sport just like wrestling and boxing and any other sport. Experience matters.
