what about pre-tensioning control arm before torquing bushings to specs?

The quicker the bushing stretch and tear, the quicker it will be back for another one.

@@maniacal-s10 NOW TRY THE CONTROL ARM LOL THIS GUY HAS IT EASY AND WOULD HAVE HAD A HELL OF A TIME WITH SEIZED BUSHINGS. MORE THAN LIKLEY WOULD END UP STRIPPING A BOLT WITH THAT GUNG HO IMPACT.
@40mmmikemike4 жыл бұрын
ball joint to steering knuckle torque is 41lb ft. front and rear control arm bolts are 81 lb ft. you really should leave the control arm bolts a little loose, then once the car is on the ground torque them so you dont tear the bushings, its called pre-tensioning like the other guy said in the comments. also i think you are supposed to replace the control arm bolts but i see alot of people reuse them. if you live in canada you can rent that ball joint separator tool from canadian tire for free.
