❤️ Changing your life takes both intentionality and consistent effort. Structured and intelligent goal setting is the foundation for making this kind of progress. It’s never too late to set new goals or update our existing ones, though how we set and pursue goals has a huge impact on whether or not we’ll actually achieve them - and some common goal-setting practices can actually be harmful rather than helpful to success.
Sending you all so much love for the new year xxx

I've read and listened to many books and speakers on goal setting, and implemented with varying success. Your point about negative visualisation was like a bolt from the sky. Ah ha! Yes. How valuable! I recently read a book called 'You Could Die Tomorrow' (morbid, yes I know, but actually good) and one of the key messages was avoiding regret - going on the journey and achieving those things you'd soooo love to do. Also where you mention goal inputs, sometimes with no solid, quantifiable outcome. Thank you!

thank you so much for this izzy! i originally found your channel because i was trying to figure out how i would study mandarin, but so many more of your videos have been helpful with actually sticking to my goals and improving my lifestyle. i got a little too inspired at the beginning of 2023 and created a bunch of different goals to work into my daily routine and it just became too much, so i’m glad to know that that’s natural if you set too many goals. thank you again!!

I have been learning Japanese, initially with books and audio files that are useful for the basics but language is about interaction, so I found a language exchange partner and we meet weekly for 2 hours on Skype. In addition we set each other writing assignments which are corrected live. My proficiency has accelerated dramatically with the live situation, and because it is at a regular time each week there is a huge incentive to study and prepare beforehand. Self study can be quite patchy at times with a busy life.

Great to see you back Izzy ! You’re far more organised than myself 😂 I tend not to give goals much thought and instead just prefer to stay consistent. But thinking about things, I would like to get to N3-N2 Japanese this year, I’m currently close to around N4 I’d say. Also I would like to try and achieve the front lever and continue with my KZbin which I recently started. Thank you for a great video ❤
