How to Change Your MK7 DSG Fluid! DIY at Home!

whats up y'all, i got another DIY service video for you guys. the dsg fluid seems complicated at first, but its actually pretty easy. as long as you've got all the tool necessary, you should be set to go. standard service time frame should be 40k miles. i would recommend 30-35k if you are tuned. save $300-400 in labor and diy at home!

you will also need a 10mm socket and 8mm Hex.

Great video! What helps speed up the process. Leave the DSG oil bottles out in the sun to “warm” them up. That way it isn’t as thick. Killer video!

I don’t have a way to tell the temp of my gearbox, how long do i need to wait so i know 100% that it’s warm enough to swap gears through?

nice video bro really thinking about doing mine now 👍🏻. quick question just to make sure once its drained i can put both bottom plugs back in. and just start putting the dsg fluid (5 quartz )thru the top again ? and that would be it basically right ? no need to leave the last bolt out so it could drain like i seen other people do or anything ?

thank you man! & yup you should be good to go. if this is your first dsg flush, fluid should be around 4.6-.7 quarts. that measuring funnel helped a ton, def recommend that!

thanks! it’s fine if it’s hotter, you just need it minimum at operating temp. if it’s colder let it run till warm enough

Can you suck it up from the top with a oil extrator, like someone would with the engine oil sort of method.

yup! lots of people run the schwaben oil extractors and they work great! thinking of picking on up myself for a no lift oil change. would be a nice change.

Im having a hard time in trying to get the right DSG fluid. The dealer tried to sell me some sort of purple colored fluid. But they have the one you used in your video and telling me its the wrong one. Help me out
