How To: Change Your Spyder's Oil

This is a video on how to change your MR2 Spyder's oil. Remember to recycle your oil and oil filter safely, which can be done at most automotive stores (O'Reillys, Autozone, ect.). Be sure to check out the spyder oil filler tube link below. It's seriously a great little headache saver.

Let me get this right: you added 4 quarts to a 3.9 quart capacity engine with an oil-filled extra-large 2ZZ oil filter? And you used the dip stick to check?

Did I hear you right? You checked the oil level and at the end you said to lower the car. How can you get an accurate reading on your oil level, when the car is jacked up? Maybe would be better to have the car at ground level before filling oil all the way to the correct level. Just saying!

from the factory, it was 5w30 as far as i know

Yup, I make sure to mention this (I think). I used 0W-40 because I saw it recommended somewhere and was curious.

do you find problems with driving without the undercarriage? aka the diaper.

Not particularly, but I never had it in the first place. The consensus is that the diaper just makes things cleaner, but I don't mind the dust.

i would not recomand filling it above the max. there is a reason its called max...

True, but a small dab of more oil won't hurt, especially in an oil thirsty car
