Since there are a great number of these types of stoves in rental units this video is very helpful for people to not lose their security deposit! Also, lifting the top up people don't know! I shared this video already....

The first time I lifted mine up, it was an accidental discovery. I also discovered three extremely dead and desiccated roaches which may have been there since the Carter administration, embedded in a thin layer of grease-caked crumbs. The cleaning process took some time, to say the least. Eek.

This is an amazing video! I just had an issue with my smoke alarm going off when all I did was boil eggs… with the vent turned on… now I’m thinking the stove just needs a nice proper clean like this!

We bought oven liners to go inside and under the burners on top to line the stove. This makes for a smooth cleaning process. We watch all your videos!

My late mother had the underside lined with aluminum foil for easy clean up and/or replacement. She wipe the coils of after every use (once it cooled down). Need to try the oven cleaner for the drip pan.

If the drip pans show rust/corrosion of any kind, it's a good excuse to swap them out too. Mine usually last about two years no matter how hard I try to keep them clean...just got a fresh set on Amazon for $17. 😉

I remember seeing you can pop the hood on the stovetop on TikTok for the first time, I was very surprised at how well the drip pans kept the underside clean. The issue I had was definitely the drip pans themselves but this video was great and my stovetop looks like new! Thank you so much for

There are aluminum foil pans specifically made for the drip pans for these stoves. I’d recommend and suggest looking into those to preserve/extend the life of your drip pans.

I have found my best/easiest way to make the coils look new...turn the burner(s) to HIGH. Stand by - do not leave the stove when doing this. Turn on the exhaust fan. Keep watching, and before you know it, all the grease, grime and dirt just burns away!. Turn the burner(s) OFF. You are done!
@jeremyhelquist5 ай бұрын
That’s how my mom did it growing up. Put them all on high and let the heat burn it off, then when cool wipe them down. Like you exhaust fan and plenty of ventilation.

I just moved into my new unit about a week ago, and I have the same kind of stove. I've never had one of these in my life, so I'm getting adjusted to it. When I first used it, there was a little bit of clear smoke coming from one of the burners, but it went away after a couple of seconds, and I attributed to when it was cleaned before I moved. So far, everything is going well, but I'm definitely going to do this this weekend because I had no idea the entire stove top could lift up. Thank you so much! Also, when spraying the whole stove, is there any concern of the coil receptacle things getting wet? I'm afraid of electrocution 😂🤦🏾♀️

Thanks to you I've become a Dawn power wash addict; the stuff is fantastic for all around the house! Still not convinced, however, that Scrub Daddy isn't too harsh and abrasive....I do use that brand of scrubby sponge daily, but it doesn't seem so stiff and unforgiving. Perhaps I just need to take the plunge and try the big Daddy.

Late to the game, but on some stoves, you hold both sides of the cooktop, pull forward a little, and lift up.
