I learnt to fry egusi as an adult. My mum Didn’t cook egusi soup frying method. This was the method she used. She’s about 80 years old now, so I don’t know if women in her time fried egusi.

Can someone please write the name of the green veggies in English for me or the native names that was described. I'll appreciate it very much. And can this soup be made with seafood only? Thanks guys. I have yet to try Nigerian food. Hopefully soon. Except for the meat dye to not eating meat of any kind. Can I have name if the Egusi in English as well. I need to look for it in USA 😊

Egusi is called melon 🍈 in English. Ugu leaf is called Vegetable leaf in English. But that of uzuza leaf, I don't know what it's called in English but its very nice in soup and has good aroma too.

Has anyone ever mixed the Egusi paste with raw egg, just like the way she made her Egusi paste with water, but you add raw egg instead before forming into little balls. When it’s cooked it will be lumps of Egusi instead of puréed egusi.Delicious.Anyway each to their own though.🤷🏽♀️
