Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel! In this video I will be cooking Okra soup The Gambia style. Okra soup is made with the main vegetable okra. You can make this dish with just seafoods or your favorite meat. Okra soup can also be prepared with or without palm oil. depending on the size you are making you really do not need a lot of oil into the soup if you decide to make it with palm oil. It is a very simple and yet delicious meal. all it required is boiling no need to fry anything at all.
You can use fresh okra or frozen as well to make this dish. simple follow the recipe step by step and you will be on your way to making you a yummy okra soup/gumbo/ Super Kanja. This dish is enjoyed mostly in many parts of west African countries though some make their own differently.
all you need is
Okras
one or two onions
salt to your taste or Maggie cubes
peppers hot or mild to you liking
palm oil or not palm oil
shrimp
fish, smoked or fresh
beef tribes
meat of your choice
cow foot optional
you can add mushrooms if you like it. if not you can opt it out.
I hope you guys will try this recipe. If you like this video, please leave your comment down below, like, share with friends and family. and if you are new to my channel I welcome you to subscribe and be on my team in enjoying making some delicious recipes.
Thank you for watching. I will see you on my next video.
Tata! bye!!

Salaam alaikum sister. Thank you thank you! I am African American, my family originated from the south and southern islands and finding simple instructions on Gambian dishes was so important for me. I have successfully made several of your instructional dishes and tested them all on my Gambian husband lol, who eat them with pride. 🤲🏽 May Allah allow you long life, with happiness and prosperity. May all your efforts be rewarded! Many blessings to you Empress.🤲🏽

This is a typical West African way of cooking, my dear. I don't see any difference between the the Gambian and Ghanaian way of cooking. I'm really thrilled we are the same. I just watch you make peanut butter soup, waakye which we make white waakye as well without the red leaves or herbs. OMG it's amazing. Lol.
