I do my magic rings differently and there probably are many ways to do it, but it does the job and that's all that matters. Usually it's a case of chain 1 or 2 which helps lock the ring (for want of a better word) once you have the magic ring ready to go. I then loop the ring over my middle finger on my left hand (as I crochet like I'm knitting) making it easier for me to work the stitches needed into the ring. But I find that the ring starts to become quite loose after a while so I wondered how I could stop that from happening. So I experimented and I have now found that when the ring is ready I chain 1 using the tail of the ring rather than with working yarn. Doing that seems to lock the ring far better and it doesn't become loose when working stitches in to it. It works well for me but I would love to see if it works as well for other people. Bear in mind it may only work well for me due to the way I do my magic ring

I'm just learning crochet and this has been my biggest pain point by far 😂 thank you for doing this video. I think my problem is my stitches are too tight cuz I'm clumsy with how I hold everything. Somehow my ring ends up twisting and I start over a time or two lol
