Yes if you want yours the same size as the one that i have made. I you use worsted weight yarn you may need less increase rounds. The trick that i use is I keep increasing on the rounds until the hat circumference is about 1/2 inch smaller than what i need and then when its the measurement i stop increasing and just make one double crochet into each stitch, hope this helps you
@CrochetwithClare13 жыл бұрын
@briannemcmurray if you are on the earflpas you can just do the last dc and then do a chain 1 and pull the yarn though

HI there, I see you are from the USA, you can use worsted weight yarn and a 5.5mm hook, you will need different amount of rows because the yarn i use in the video is thinner, I have a hat video called 'Hat / Beanie Crochet Tutorial - Almost Invisible seam ' this will show you how to get your hat to fit then you can use the rest of this video for the owl hat

Hi, hope this helps The mathematical formula for getting circumference if you know the diameter (measurement across hat). You just measure from 1 edge to the other and multiply that number by 3.142 & the answer you get is the measurement of the circumference.

So for example if the head measurement is 21 inches you need to increase until the circumference/outside edge measurement is 20 inches. When you have the desired measurement you STOP increasing and continue on with 1 stitch in each stitch

Hi, I am not sure what size your hat turned out, but 58 - 60 cm would be classed as large...any thing over 56-57 cm would fit an adult Bevs country cottage webiste has a great sizing chart

Hi , are you talking about the seam on the hat ?
@CrochetwithClare12 жыл бұрын
is size 4 worsted? Im not sure because we have different yarn in Australia. If its worsted 4ply and 5.5mm hook.how to get the correct size When making a beanie/hat you need to keep increasing until the circumference/outside edge measurement is 1 inch smaller than the head that you are making it for (making a bit smaller allows for stretch)
