The concept of "pulling it off" "flattering" is so strange to me now, I put my hair like a really short pixie last year and the sheer amount of family and friends who said "you are so brave" was alarming. It is just hair, and I always stopped myself because I felt or was led to believe I couldn't "pull it off" ladies, gentleman confidence leads to attractiveness. I feel good, I feel pretty, I dont need or feel like anyone else can lead me to believe otherwise. If I am called ugly or fat or something negative I just laugh, no. I love myself and that's enough for me. AND if all else fails, get a wig lol ok katrin your channel gets me thinking a lot

Amen to that! No matter what other people think you can choose what you want to think. And honestly, confidence doesn’t lead to attractiveness. Attractiveness is subjective and in the eyes of others, and you can never control what others think of you. But your thoughts lead to confidence and FEELING attractive and that is all that matters! 🤩

I feel you. My mom thought I was crazy when I told her I wanted to cut my hair even shorter, I already cut my hair from mid back to chin length and I now have had a pixie cut for almost 4 years. Every time I go to get my hair cut again because it's getting to long for me my mom is like "But I like it the way it is now. It looks way nicer longer." It annoys the hell out of me like yeah I know you've been telling me this for the past 4 years also I'm 21 I couldn't care less what you think of my hairstyle. I love my short hair there is nothing anyone can say that will make me think otherwise.

I am a trans man and this video came just in time. I dared to cut my hair short a while ago but I want to shave my hair off completely now because I simply do not enjoy having hair on my head - it gets in the way, I hate spending extra time on styling it and it makes me feel dysphoric. I worried a lot about how people would react if I shaved my head but you're right - their opinion doesn't matter and what makes me feel more comfortable and content with myself should be the only thing that drives my decisions... Shaving my head was so much more empowering than I expected. So many people told me how brave I was which made me feel super weird. It’s so strange that shaving your head is seen as “brave” by some women. I always recommend it to everyone who asks me about it. People always say “you can pull off anything. I could never do that. Love your videos and your personality ❤️❤️ I've always wanted to shave my hair off, especially since I have no real emotional connection to it, washing it is a whole ordeal, and I nearly always keep it in a bun anyway! I think it would quite flatter my head shape, and it would definitely help in "flagging" my lesbianism to other people, something that doesn't necessarily happen with long hair. Unfortunately my mom disapproves and says I'd look too much like a boy (I'm still a minor and living with her), but I am working on convincing her to let me do it for my 18th birthday -- wish me luck!

I shaved my head a few years ago. My hair was pretty long so I first cut it shorter and shorter each month until I did the final chop. It was so worth it and that feeling when I did it is something I had never experienced before. I’ve kept it short these past few years but am now letting it grow long again. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll probably do it again in the future 😊

My head was shaven by my parents from the age of 3 to 7 years old due to the fact that I had trichotillomania and they thought it was the best way to help me stop. I was bullied pretty badly for those 4 years by kids at school saying I looked like a boy and I wasn't allowed to play with the other girls..etc Once I overcame the disorder and my hair grew I became emotionally attached to it, to be seen as "femenine" by others was a relief, since then I have never had it shorter than my chin (multiple different hair styles and colors) I hope to one day maybe be open to the possibility of going shorter or just letting go of the emotional attachment. Ana Vargas I had trichotillomania and my head almost got shaved but I had the fear that people won’t love me if I was bald so I forced myself to stop pulling on my hair, but.. Hi! I shaved my hair 7.11.2018, you inspired me to do it finally, after thinking of shaving it for years.. + hair is hair it grows back quick so if I regretted it I also have fun wigs= if I hated it 🤷 it grows back.. I hid behind my hair, I loved doing things with my hair but I wanted my curls back as good as they possibly could be and even though everyone said to not do it cause I always said I want long hair, but it was to hide behind it. After shaving my head I got so many compliments, it made me even more confident. I now am growing my natural hair back, I have really nice tight curls! I also got more confidence and got excited about make up for the first time, due to feeling great about not having the hair weighing me down and hide behind hair.

I've shaved the sides of my hair a few times in the past and was thinking of shaving it all off. I was worried about what others would say but said "screw it" and shaved all of my hair back in May, I liked it, but have been growing it out since. I want to grow my hair really long. I shaved my head last year. I wanted to start by zero again. Because growing out a sidecut is annoying as well. I also wanted to donate my hair and when one of my friends told me she has cancer I asked her to shave my head so we can have the same baldness for a time. We had fun that evening, she is better, our hair is growing again and I enjoy not finding long hair everywhere. Did everybody like it? -No. But the ones that love me accepted it anyway and support me even if they loved my long blond hair. So it’s always up to you. Great video content, it’s all about yourself!

I always had a bad relationship with my hair. I had it long because ponytails are the easiest to make and that's all I ever wore. I shaved my head in December of 2018 and have had it short ever since. And I DO 'pull it off'. I look much better with a buzzcut than with long hair, and it saves on professional haircut costs as well :D

My dad said I shouldn't shave my head because my job hired me for my looks. So I shaved my head and my manager told me it's no different if I were to shave my head or if he did. People are loving it and my dad, I think, likes it too.

Think you're brilliant. My daughter at the age of 14 cut 16" of her hair and donated it too the little princess trust who makes wigs for children with cancer. This April she is shaving her head for cancer she is 21 years of age, she said that hair grows back, just like you said. My biggest fear on shaving my head is that I will think that I look ugly. That would affect my already fragile self esteem. Also my mom has always been very controlling towards me. I only recently started to rebel by dyeing my hair first blue and then green, stretching my ears and getting a (fake) septum. The backlash of that already made me spent many nights crying when my mom just kept telling me how stupid I look and that there must be something wrong with me. I definitely will shave my head one day. I shaved a side cut half a year ago and I'm living for it. At the moment I have way to much fun coloring my hair and living my one side punk, one side mermaid fantasy. as someone who's fat (and has been fat since i was in the 2nd grade), i 100% agree with you in regards to the "more flattering than others" point... my mom used to police what i was allowed to wear or not wear because boxy sweaters and flowy blouses (some of my all-time favorite styles) were 'not flattering', according to her, but the first thing i did when i got my first job as a teenager was buy clothes for my own wardrobe and guess what became my fashion staples? boxy sweaters and flowy blouses (and flannels and skinny jeans, too...) and i thought i looked really nice in them! and as someone who frequently shaves their head in the summer and grows it back out in the fall and winter? i just love changing my hair all the time. one of the first people i looked up to in high school as a style icon was this amazing girl with a pixie cut who told me "it's just hair, it grows back. if you want short hair, you should go for it. if you don't like it, it'll grow back." and i couldn't believe that i had never thought of it before then. (sorry this comment is so long, i just think it means so much for young people--young girls, especially--to know that they can wear and style themselves however the hell they want! it's so freeing.

Loved this video! I shaved my head about 10 years ago and I absolutely LOVED it. I’ve seen grown my hair out because I am in a profession that doesn’t really jive with the shaved head vibe. BUT! The experience was awesome. My male friends loved it (G.I. Jane vibe) and my female friends were judgy, but jealous, if that makes sense. I would 100% do it again if I get the chance. Lol I shaved my head finally, used this and I have a realization at the bottom of this comment 1. Yes and no. I just figured out how to love my waves/curls, but I needed to shave due to sensory issues 2. Sensory issues with hair touching my neck and face and scalp issues 3. Yes, huge emotional bond. Reminded myself I can grow it back someday if possible 4. Sometimes. If I ever do regret things I just wait/work it out somehow lol 5. yes, I loved styling my waves but I’ve been surprisingly fine not doing so 6. Definitely! 7. I’d be happy. Less chance of getting groped in the workplace (fingers crossed 🤞🏻) my partner still finds me beautiful 8. N/A unless people still find me gropeable Realization: having a buzz cut has allowed me to feel the ac on a hot day far better and quicker, it’s fun to rub, me and other ‘baldies’ chat it up effortlessly as if we’ve known each other for years, wind is fun suddenly 😮, after a shower my hair dries in 20 min instead of 4-6 hrs, I HATE the loud sound of clippers 😭 but I’ll go through it to maintain this, sleeping can hurt sometimes because my hair is thick. Still trying to pop a balloon with my hair 🎈

usually people don't care about such stuff since they have their own little porblems to worry about, but at the same time people in high school can be mean. If you really want to, go for it or wait until you are out of high school and entering uni. People there are way more chilled. One thing you might try is starting with a longer lenght and working down a lenght you are comfortable with without messing it up. Or you just shave it during holidays and grow it back before school starts again.

Before I shaved my head, I always had long hair like Rapunzel, cause my mom and most people told me "Girls are beautiful with long hair". But when I decided to shave my head, I feel the most beautiful version of myself. I gain more self-confident, boost more self-positivity, I started to love myself. Every time I washed my head in the shower and stared at the mirror, I was so grateful to see my bare face with no hair. It's like... every changes on my head and new hair gave me more strength. I realised that I shouldn't have too much attachment to my body because "the society told me how to look beautiful". We are beautiful in our own way. And girls... that chubby cheeks shouldn't be the barrier between you and short hair or shaved head. WE CAN ROCK THE SHAVED HEAD!!! WOHOOOOOO.......

In my opinion, you should never not do something to your own appearance, that YOU want to do, because someone else might not like it or might not like you, because of how you look. It is so ridiculous to limit yourself, because of others ignorance and superficial bigotry. If you live your life to please others, you will never be fully happy. Anyone who judges or ostrasizes you, because they don't like your hair!... Um yeah, you don't need a fool like that in your life anyway.

I shaved my head last year, just for the hell of it (and because it was dead from being bleached), and I was always so annoyed by the "you're so brave" and "I could never pull that off! You're so lucky" comments I received. I was flattered people still thought I was "pretty" but that's not why I shaved my head. I think that was more annoying than the people who kept asking when I was growing my hair back out. On the flip side, the actual process of my shaving my head was one of the most satisfying things I've ever done. 10/10 stars. Would recommend to anyone that's even remotely considering it.

Any one else worried about being chilly? I can't even wear a ponytail in the winter, my neck and ears get freezing. I have super thick hair and I'm always cold. Not worried about how I'll look, but worried about losing my built-in blanket

I REALLY want to shave my head, but my family would not let me shave it at all. I will admit that I might look ugly and do go on a whim. BUT I really want to shave my head to let it grow more healthier and hopefully come to a point where I love my hair because with every haircut I get, I’m always wanting to change it (cut myself bangs right after I saw a movie with the protagonist having bangs lol) Might consider shaving in the future when I’m a working adult lol, but the urge to shave my head is going over the roof right now.

I have trichotillomania, and it’s been ruining my life for 4years now, I bought a wig a few months ago and I still don’t know how I feel about it, I thought it would make my life better and it kinda does, but now I worry that people know I’m wearing a wig, and honestly wigs are kinda uncomfortable, it feels like you’re always wearing a beanie, so I want to shave my head, wanted to do it for months, I don’t have that much hair left but I’m still scared, I live in Algeria and people are not very open minded or used to girls with shaved heads...I’m tired honestly..I just want to be able to love myself and feel pretty..

I shaved my head in september because a) I've always wanted to and b) my hair was super damaged and I just wanted to start over. It took me a long time to adjust (I still am adjusting honestly), but it made me more secure in a way because, since I didn't feel beautiful with it, I was forced to step outside that and question why that was and what I was really placing value on in my life. The most annoying thing was all the "I'm concerned about your health" type comments I got. Like every one was assuming I was chronically ill because of it. No one every asks a man if his health is okay because hr shaved his head. -_-

I shaved my head and now am growing it back out....it's a little over an inch now and looks so awkward, I don't know how to style it...the hair at my hairline grows straight up and I'll have to wait til it's longer and heavier so it won't look like I'm electrocuted :(

It helps to cut it shorter and shorter a little bit at a time. I always had the skater hair or emo hair style. My mom cut it really short one time without telling me, I was okay with it and got it shorter the next haircut.
