Glorious day, Lee! I am 62 years old and one of your avid qigong followers many years now. I want you to know that being a mindfulness practitioner and a wellness-wise creature. I have incorporated some of your Qigong routines with my transcendental meditation and yoga exercises. It's really doing me a lot of good spiritually, physically, psychologically, and emotionally. Kudos to you! I hope to meet with you in person one of these days. Namaste! 🙏

Lee Holden, thanks much for another great Qigong video. Your breath exercise is very similar to the Resonant (Coherent) Breathing outlined by James Nestor in the appendix of his recent book, "Breath." Although, he recommends at least ten repetitions. Breathing is so important and speaking for myself changing breathing habits, slowing it down, has been extremely beneficial. You made a great suggestion in this video to "set it up first in your mind." I think many of us tend to have automated responses to various triggers in our lives which can include getting angry. These responses can be inappropriate and detrimental to the situation, not to mention the long term physiological impact of incurring the related stress - turning up the sympathetic nervous system and the related hormonal response. How much of these emotional reflexes do we learn at a very young age? We often don't know why we respond the way we do, it's not a well founded response, and can be harmful to others and ourselves. But there it is. These traits can be extremely difficult to change. So, to expand on your suggestion we can use visualization to practice new behaviors. Spend a few minutes imagining a scenario that's a trigger for you, that causes a severe emotional response such as anger. Now, imagine having a completely different response. Picture a situation and see yourself being calm, rational with the knowing that overreacting won't help. By doing this type of mental practice you can set yourself up for a different behavior. But it might take some work as old habits can be hard to change. Including this as part of an ongoing meditative practice is a great approach. And like many things, the more you do it the better you get at it. Finally, one day you catch yourself in the act and you realize that Wow, I didn't get angry. I derailed my typical response and was cool and calm. Hope all of this makes sense and that it may be helpful. And thank you for all of your good work and positive influence.

Lee, thank you for sharing this wisdom. I was furious and skimming through a webpage to find a solution, then closed it when I accepted the answer is not on the web. Somehow, this webpage opened when I closed the other (I have not recently watched this video), and I heard your first words about dealing with anger. After listening to you and doing the movements, i can laugh at how the video miraculously appeared. I feel better and supported. This is such important work. And it supports me in my work to advocate for the conservation and restoration of the natural world. Thank you, Namaste.

I love this guy and his whole team🥲 Would love to meet Lee in person or even online one day. At least for a heart to heart thank you. I specialize in Therapeutic Hypnosis and Subconscious Behavior Development, but Qigong was my start. And Lee was my best Qi regulating start🕊️

This was helpful. Thank you. However, does this work for deep-seated anger or is there another kind of qigong exercise, you would recommend?

Dear lee, can I ask a question? Everytime i do grounding excersises I become aNgry aftherwards. Sometime I know pain and grieve are behind this anger. Would you recommend to do less grounding excersises? Or any other ideas what I might be doing wrong ?

As soon as you use thar word "peaceful" you blow the concept. You don't have to be peaceful. Taking the emotion out is the better way to say it, but calm is not the same as taking the emotion out. Telling people to calm down makes them more angry.
