Great video, I did not know flock was still used. Used a kit just like that when I was a kid to flock the base of a turned Woden bowl. Did not change much in 40 years. BTW love your look with those glasses.

Flocking great video, like always. If you want some nice seats without spending a ton, look at some Corbeau seats. I used the RSS in a Mustang and they worked great. I was able to transfer the heating elements and the air bag to let it know if someone was in the drivers seat. They have great bolster and are pretty damn comfy too, plus they looked pretty damn nice.

Definitely want to see how this turns out!! I've been looking for something to do with my rear hatch panels for the longest that'll actually hold up. I've tried krylon rattle can, duplicolor's vinyl plastic paint, and plastidip. It just doesn't stay on without get scratched. I never heard of this stuff before and willing to give it a shot.

If you want the retrofit and make it look oem then get some modern Audi TT seats. Racing seats sometimes look out of place (although you could always put the Audi logo and make them look more stock). Depends on what look you’re going for.

What a great video I learned a lot. As far as new seats go I recommend just looking on eBay and other places. There seems to be a lot of variety out there. They can get pricey really quick. But I'll bet you could definitely find something for under $500 that is brand new.

For the seats if you are on a budget go check out corbeau. They have some nice but cheapo seats. The rrs seat looks realy nice. If you want quality go for recaro sr range but I heard you speaking about the weight of the stock seats......why not put a fixed bucket seat in there like a corbeau nfx or better a recaro pole position? Last on only weighs 12.5 kilo per seat.

Great work (as usual) Any old cheap rattle-can primer would've worked as a 1st coat sealant over those panels. If you would have used even a flat finish enamel it would have been enough to seal the subsurface against some amount of moisture. Plus, if you end up with any "thin" areas of flocking, a light spray coat of 3M Adhesive over the thin areas will do for you to re-flock those areas. (Done that before myself.) Regarding your rear seat delete... I'm sure that you would have checked on it but isn't that going to drive the insurance rates up? I know Audi stuck those seats back there originally to avoid just such a situation with European insurance standards. Can't imagine that it'd be any different here in the U.S.

Personally i think pulling some stock sport buckets out of one of the mk5 golf variants like the GTI or R32 would be a good budget choice. the mk1 audi TT and the mk5 golf are on the pq35 chassis and should simply bolt in... I'm not 100% sure on that though... GLI seats out of a mk5 jetta might be nice too If you want extreme weight reduction i suggest bolting a plastic lawn chair in :)
