great demo. thanks! the process is pretty much what I thought, but the one question I have is why I watched it to begin with. do you continue to add clean brake fluid as you pump so that no air enters the system. I just got a new XR400 after having only a trail 90 to ride for the last 15 years. Pretty excited, but just stripped the screw on the front brake reservoir while watching your other video. I've never owned a bike with disc brakes.

+Solvid FIY Hi and congrats on the new bike! Yes keep the reservoir topped off so that no air enters the line. If air enters the line you will have a very spongy brake pedal. Good luck and enjoy your new ride :)

i bleed and do everything fine then when i close the valve and put the cap on the brake pad pistons done activate

Hi, make sure you don't release the brake pedal until the bleed valve is shut or air will go in and make the pedal feel spongy. As you build pressure with the pedal it should feel very firm and remain that way. Check for any bubbles as you're bleeding it. Hope it works out, good luck.

hi sum4seb,when doing the pumping (bleeding) does it need to close the reservoir fluid tight or leave it open?i mean the cap of reservoir

Hi, the cap stays off until the end of the operation. Sorry for the confusion. You just have to make sure you keep enough fluid in the reservoir so that you don't suck in any air. Let us know if you need anything else :-D

Hi,I have followed your procedure in flushing the rear brake fluid..however,after doing so I somehow lost the break or pressure on the break.please advise on what to do next. thank you

Hi Jin, the way you are describing it, sounds like you got air in the system. You will have to bleed it again. Make sure you pump the rear brake pedal until pressure is built (you should feel pressure building in system as you pump), undo bleeding screw a quater turn while keeping pressure on rear brake pedal, (brake fluid comes out) close bleeding screw, then release brake pedal and repeat. While doing that, make sure the fluid in the reservoir never goes below half, keep it topped off so it can't suck in air. We hope this helps, let us know how it goes.
